How many Zaino users use Z5?

I am thinking of trying Z2Pro on my dark metallic blue GTO. I will be polishing with PB SSR1, then AIO prior to ZFX/Z2Pro, then going with 5 or so layers of the Z2. I don't guess I see the purpose of Z5 with this combination, other than maybe hiding swirls that might get accumulated in the actualy layers of Z2. How many of you actually use Z5?

i have Z5. it is not THAT much fifferent than the 2. It does help with like very, very fine micro marring.

this is last year's forumla though.

SSR1 would probably polish out any minor swirling that Z5 is able to cover up anyway. Anyone have another view on that?

Other than that, some also feel Z5 provides a very slightly different look. If you are happy with the way the car looks after polishing, you might just go straight to Z2.

On my black car, I never used Z2, but only Z5.

Not here. I would just go with Z2 Pro over well prep'ed paint. I've just had very little success with using Z5 as a swirl filler.

Agreed. Z5 is not really a swirl filler. When comparing old z2 to z5, z5 looks better on darker colours. I'm not usre how z2 pro would fit in. But I'm told that it looks great on dark colours as well.

I go straight to Z2 Pro without the Z5. The base is AIO after polishing with 3M on a family car.

Unless the Z5 had been reformulated to hide moderate swirls and not just light swirls or marring, that's the only time I would have to order the Z5 and shoulder that irritating shipping cost.

And the Z2 Pro is IMHO a big improvement over the old Z2 to the extent you can dispense with the Z5 already.

I love Z5 on my black Z06. It is definetly better on black/dark color cars. The new Z2 Pro narrowed the margin a bit but Z5 still looks better on SOME paints.

I still use Z5 for only the fact that Z5 is slightly different in make-up than the Z2 series. Z5 is more than just Z2 with fillers or an increase in the concentration crosslinking components of the Z2.

If you paint is perfect, no need for Z5. If your paint is in "real world" Autopian condition, it would not hurt to initiate the Z polish layering with 1 or 2 coats of Z5, especially if one has some on hand. The final appearance of the topping polish (Z2 or Z2-PRO) is not influenced by the presents of Z5 underneath except for maybe hiding very minute finish defects.

Z2-PRO actual has better appearance characteristic than the presently available Z5 alone on dark colors when compared side-by-side.

Z5-PRO :nixweiss

Z2 seemed to be â€Ëœclearerâ€â„¢ (optics) than Z5, which Iâ€â„¢ve always used on dark colours. Thus far Iâ€â„¢ve only used Z2PROâ„¢ on silver/white but it seems to me even â€Ëœclearerâ€â„¢ than Z2.

Z5PRO? Would be interesting

Z5 "hiding' abilities are very small and would only hide marring that a AIO/VM type would leave behind.

It's not a SMR by any means. It really only fills in very very very thin maring.

I haven't had a shot to use Z2Pro yet as it's not available at my retail store and it's also freaking cold up here so I'm not sure about it. If you have Z5, it's a wise decision to lay down a layer or 2 of it prior to Z2.

What a tease :p

Actually more of a hint to Sal. ;)

Imagine Zaino making a Z5 with better hiding ability and the depth and wetness increase that occurred with the evolution of Z2 to Z2-PRO.

That would be a killer.:woot:

I know Sal is a man of few words so let me make MY desires plain and simple:

SAL: Hurry up and issue a paint cleaner product designed to optimize Z2 Pro .....

AND a new Z5 Pro with real filling power and less shine/more depth than Z2 Pro.

Oh and a matte polymer interior dressing would be nice also! :lol

Oh, if we're making Zaino wish lists here, then:

A Zaino SMR (which I think I read is in the works)

A Paint cleaner like RedondoV6 said

A Z6 Pro (I can't imagine it getting better)

Start selling Z7 in bigger bottles/jugs

And an occasional Free Shipping Bash :D

I'd like to see:

Z5Pro (with more hiding ability)

Zaino Paint Cleaner (similar to AIO)

Zaino SMR (Speed Glaze type product with protection qualities)

Zaino Medium Cut Polish (DACP)

Zaino Carnuba Wax

I think Z5 is useless, I'll trade ya somthing for it.

Z5 is useless if the surface is not prep too the finest of imperfections. This should be quite easy with GM clearcoated Red.

I will trade you a full bottom Meguiars IHG. Great for hiding uncorrected paint flaws in conjuncture with a carnauba. :nixweiss
