How many Zaino layers?

I posted a thread about the proper way to remove Zaino. I was going to try polish and top with a pure carnauba this weekend for a change?

One reply said I was crazy. The car has 8 coats of Zaino now. The ram air hood was added about 3 months ago and has nothing applied yet. Will I keep seeing an improvement by adding additional coats of Zanio?

Thanks,

John

3-4 of the new Z2-PRO with at least 2 coats of Z5 after a meticulous prep.

What I love about Zaino is that the "just waxed" appearance is maintained for a very long time but I do add layers monthly, not because I have to, but because I love too. :woot:

I find this whole thing about having a zillion coats of Zaino quite amusing. After the first 5 I stop counting because IMO it doesn't seem to make a difference after that point. When I start seeing swirls or am just in the mood I put another coat on. It's easy to do and very satisfying. I think I just like how slick the car feels afterwards. :spot Usually I put a coat of Z5 on followed by Z2 Pro with Z6 inbetween and Z8 as the topper.

In any case I wouldn't hesitate to top with a different glaze or wax if you want to. Lots of people here do. Experimentation isn't a bad thing.

Sadly I am the same way. Its funny I you opened my eyes to something. I was thinking about stripping my Zaino and trying someting else, but I just realized what you said is so true. It always has that look of just waxed. Even after three months.

I have 5 layers on now and try to add a new one every week. Again not because I have to but because I want to.

Detailing is my smoking. When I am stressed, I go detail something. Some smoke, some drink, so go to strip clubs, I go to a microfiber a bottle of Zaino and something to clean door jams lol.

I use Z8 inbetween.

3 should be fine for protection, anything more is because you enjoy applying it. Hard to say for sure if the look is actually improving past a few layers or you are just restoring the appearance back to 100% with each successive layer. :nixweiss

I do the same with carnaubas on my car. Dead on, the improvement isn't much with each additional coat of whatever carnauba I put on but at an angle you see the depth. Maybe it is all in my mind but I know my black car looks way better than any other black car I've ever parked next to. ;)
