So let me get this straight....You're just picking up these grout sponges from Lowe's and they're safe to use on your finish. They look like they could be quite abrasive.
You won't think so when you touch it.

I've been using ONR for two years now, but recently did my first ONR wash with the Lowes GS.

It worked fine, but the sponge didn't absorb ONR as much as I thought it would.

My technique is a little different than some. I use ONR at QD+ mix of 8oz/gal, sprayed on panels with a hand held pump sprayer. I use a rinse bucket of about 2 gallons of water. I previously used MF for the wash and dry, rotating as needed.

I will continue to use the GS as it works well and rinses/cleans well. I think I may use a separate sponge for tires/wells.

I cleaned the GS in the sink with a bit of Simple Green APC and some dawn (did he say dawn?)I let it soak, then worked it with some dawn and it cleaned up well, but there was a little stubborn stain remaining, but nothing like the stains I have on several WW MF towels…and so what if a wash sponge is a bit stained anyway.

I expect that the GS is gonna last a good long time and for the price of about $1.50, who cares really - long term more cost effective than using MF towels?

Old thread poll is closed :bawling:

I've used my GS for at least 30 washings and still is going strong. Problem is, what to do w/ the 10 or 12 I have harbored. I've given away as many as I have but they seem to be multiplying! Every time I look in the cabinet I see more in Lowes bags! Maybe I'll breed 'em and sell 'em.

(please forgive me Frank Zappa)

I might be movin' to Montana soon

Just to raise me up a crop of Grout Sponges Raisin' it up

Washin it down

In a little white Lowes bag

I can sell uptown

By myself I wouldn't

Have no grunge,

But I'd be raisin' my lonely Grout Sponge.

Movin' to Montana soon

Gonna be a Grout Sponge tycoon.
