how many hours of sleep do you average a night?

Usually 8-9. I suppose my age (47) and activity level (very high) have something to do with it :nixweiss

I used to consider sleep just wasted time, but I've found that my quality of life has improved dramatically since I started sleeping until I'm fully rested (no more, no less).

I only got 2 hours last night, but the good thing is I aced my test today, woo! :heelclick

But it sucks, my first class starts at 7:10 in the morning, so I have to wake up like at 5:45 just to be able to get ready and make breakfast and get to campus on time. I try to go to sleep by 10, but that hasn't been enough sleep lately. I think a good 8 or 9 hours is best for me. I wish I could sleep on demand too, it sucks just laying there and not being able to fall asleep, so you don't really get any good REM rest. OTC sleeping pills suck and don't work.

I just wish I could get comfortable enough to sleep that long. Even after a full day of detailing or riding my bicycle I still don't sleep that long. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to sneak in a nap today.

I usually get 5-6 hours of sleep. I could be up for 24 hours and go to bed and still wake up 6 hours later and thats with the assistance of medication (ambien). Insomnia is such a PITA.

I usually get right around 7 during the week (9:30p to 4:30a).. Usually only around 5.5 on the weekends. (midnight to 5:30a).

Anywhere from 2-5 all week long. Usually closer to 2 than 5, unfortunately. Sucks because I try to sleep more but I can't. Oh well, I'm 25 and I've been this way since I was around 15 so I'm used to it by now.

I usually get 6.5 - 7 hrs.

I was reading something recently talking about how such a large percentage of the US is sleep deprived. Everyone is different, but 7.5 - 8 is recommended.

I feel bad for my wife, getting up through the night with our 8 month old:sadwavey: , kinda comes with the territory.

Six hours weekdays, 8 on the weekend. Being I firefighter, I am used to going 24 + hours straight at long term incidents.

I finfd that I can nof off just abouty anywhere, including sitting at my computer terminal zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :grinno:

I hope next year when I am an old man like you, I don't need that much sleep! :LOLOL

I typically get 6, maybe 7. About once a month, I fall asleep on the couch around 9 PM and accidently get more sleep.

one thing i notice as i am getting older, my body wants to get up at a certain time regardless of how many hours i've been sleeping... :nixweiss
