How long does a good wax last?

I'm using Petes 53 after a coat of BF diamond
In Ontario.
In general, how long should a good wax last before I need to redo it?
I realize there are variables.

How long does a bottle of wine last?

How far can you go on a gallon of gas?

How long can someone hold their breath?

All are dependent on variables.

Heh heh, wish Souveran lasted 120 days for me...

As suggested, there are just too many variables for a worthwhile answer. Gotta just see how it works out for *you*.

Waxes are so easy to apply, especially the new spray waxes...longevity is practically a moot point at this stage in the game.

Not the least of which is: "What defines a good wax?" P21S as an example is an incredible wax that I wouldn't hesitate to use on a garage queen or show car, but will last a couple weeks if that on a daily driver.

According to Collinite 476S statement on the can "Lasts at least a full year".

There is no common agreed criteria. I bet many waxes are still on the paint "protecting" to some extent well beyond the time I want to refresh it but possible for a manufacturer to claim. The beading and sheeting characteristics usually change over time and also depends on the environment.

For example, in the summer, the upper sections seem to degrade faster the sides but in the winter it seems just the oppposite at times. I had applied some 476 and pollen zapped it just like the other waxes I was testing -- about 3 weeks before I wanted to recoat. Collinite does have a good reputation.

It was great looking for the whole 3 days it lasted

Would a product like Maguires Quik wax be considered a detailing spray as opposed to a full on car waxing?
