How long can I leave the car unprotected?

I have a jet black bmw that I started detailling last week over the weekend. It is swirled to hell so I spent a lot of time on just a few panels that weekend. It sits outside in the sun (which has been pretty harsh this week). I noticed some dullness to the paint, but I assume that's because I used ssr2.5 with a yellow SFX pad, not because the clearcoat failed. Please tell me I'm right!



So.. how long can I leave it like this without worrying too much. I don't want to go and AIO/SG so I can work for any extra 10 minutes/panel polishing that stuff off the next day so I can get to the swirls. Plus I just don't want to waste the product.
 
I would remove it right after it dries. As far as using 2.5 and the paint it dull, i'm not quite sure about that. I don't think its possible to burn through the clearcoat with a PC. Did you remove the residue all the way with a clean MF towel?
