How long after S100 before Final Detail?

Hi,

Just put on and buffed off a coat of s100 on my car. How long should I now wait before I use Final Detail?

Also, will Final Detail stop another coat of S100 "bonding"?

Thanks,

Face

You should be able to use FD right after S100 with no issues.

S100 is not a sealant but a carnuaba wax. No bonding issues whatsoever.

Great stuff!

I just wondered if there was something in the FD, like silicone or whatever, which would cause problems for the S100.

Thanks for the info,

Face

Same application session for me it works great. I usually wash once before applying a second coat of wax with a detail spray over the first coat of wax. I'm not sure that this is necessary. I'll bet Meguiar's would tell you this is O.K. if you were using their carnauba's. In fact I've been told by their reps that FD is a great way to moisten your wax/buffer pad. That would lead me to believe it isn't a problem.

Questions,

Do you guys use that grey sponge that came in with the S1000 and P21S Carnuba wax? or you guys use something else?

i use it. it spreads the product pretty well but i might start using the yellow meguiars foam applicators because the grey one is getting a little "hard".

I use it all the time. I find its alittle smaller than the yellow apps and allows me to get into small spaces easier.

I don't use the grey sponge. I actually take a plastic knife and spread it on a Meguair's buffer sponge and apply it with my PC. I know that many wouldn't do this but I put just about anything I can on with a PC, using one just turns my crank. :p

Been told by a few wax makers that it's better to let the wax cure

for a day or two before a QD as you will be removing a certain percentage of the wax you just applied.

I'll apply it with that little grey applicator, remove with an MF , but what I've tried lately and it has worked is after I'm completely done, take my MF bonnet on my PC and go over it.. heats it up for a really shiny wetter looking fininsh IMO
