How iwll you know your NS has been on the shelf too long?

Got mine on the car this weekend :clap2: and it seems like I could probably have gotten 5 more (miatas at least ) done with it, despite the small bottles. discussions here about shelf life, and i think the concensus at this point is about a month. Any way to empirically tell when the stuff is no longer "good".

What I was actually asking is what is it that characterizes the product "going bad". Does it skin over, turn color, or just stop working the way it should (and how would one tell that)? 3D has stated 30 days, but what happens after that?





Inquiring minds would like to know....

Cool, hopefully it does extend the life. $60 is a lot to blow on something that has to be used ASAP. That's the thing I really liked about OptiCoat, it keeps just fine.
 
The product crystallizes is what I was told.

I'd like to know as well as I have a kit on the way. Can nitrogen gas topup make a significant difference to shelf life?
 
I just looked up Bloxygen and the site says it won't help products that cure via oxygen absorption. Is that how NS cures or is it another pathway?

think you read that backwards. it prevents finishes that use oxygen to cure from curing. you could use nitrogen in place of bloxygen.
 
Heh, heh, I must be tired. I read it correctly but expressed it incorrectly. I meant to say: "it won't help products that DON'T cure via oxygen absorption". Good pick up. :xyxthumbs
