how is 4* spray wax compare to crystal mist?

Has anyone used both and have any opinions about the two? Although, I love crystal mist it's a little bit of pricey. Im looking for a good alternative that will rival the deep luster that crystal mist gives. If I can't find one, I guess i'll just have to settle and pay the high price of the pinnacle. Im looking for qd's that have carnuba on them.

Crystal Mist is a very nice carnauba QD. If you are looking for something a little more cost effective, but with a similar look, I'd suggest trying Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl. Four Star Spray Wax+ is also a nice carnauba QD, but to my eyes the EF product more closely resembles Crystal Mist.

I've never tried the 4* but I agree with Marj that the EF is close the the Pinnacle. Both are excellent. I always try to use Crystal Mist when I have Souveran on my car although I must say I can't really notice a difference between it and Clear Pearl. Crystal mist is just marked up because its part of the pinnacle line, Clear Pearl is a much better value and 90% as good.

Another QD to consider is Detailer's Pride Spray Wax with Carnauba. I found it very similar to EF's Clear Pearl, Crystal Mist, and Four Star Spray Wax with carnauba. My favs of the one's listed are in order as follows:

Crystal Mist (easy guess)
Detailer's Pride
Eimann Fabrik
Four Star

Hope this helps!

EF is a much better value for regular use than Crystal Mist. SilverLexus turned me onto EF and the entire line works great.

You may want to give the Optimum Spray Wax a try. It is very easy to apply and gives a warm wax look that is not sterile like sealants. It does contain both polymers and carnauba; however, it probably doesn't have as much nuba as the crystal mist or 4*. But OSW will outlast both, I'm sure. 17 oz. is on sale now for 13.95 at autgoeek.net. The Optimum is not intended as a typical qd for cleaning, but more as a final wipe product.

I've found 4* spray wax to be more like S&G or Adams DS. It leaves a nice, smooth, gloss to the paint. I dunno about protection though...

I find Sonus Carnauba Spritz to be pretty comparable to Crystal Mist, and it is half the cost.

One thing about crystal mist that gets me to keep buying it, is the smell alone! :wait
Have to say Detailers Pride does carry a close second
