How good is zaino really?

So are you saying that as a good thing or bad, please clarify?

The older (non-Pro) Zaino did in fact have the "wrapped in plastic" look than Shiny Lil'Detlr mentioned.

Not that it's a bad thing on lighter colors like White and Silver but on darker colors it was not the look that most desired.

I recented used Zaino All-In-One on my yellow SRT-8 and it acted more like a carnauba than the side I did with Klasse All-In-One which was much brighter/reflective which is what most people see as "sealant like".

Every bit as good as Duragloss. Pretty easy to use (although Z5 can be streaky on dark colors), decent looks and durability. Personally, I'd go buy some Duragloss stuff and save some money.

It is hard to describe the look. After proper prep, it is like it makes the paint look "high definition", that is the best way to describe it.

You should also realize that 90% of what people think are "different looks" to LSPs are entirely in their head; yes there are tangible differences, but you shouldn't buy Zaino thinking it'll do something "ZOMG super amazinggg" to your finish. You'll apply it (after proper prep of course), and think, "yep, that must be that Zaino look other people were talking about".

This is also worth mentioning. I also have some Duragloss 111 in my arsenal, and it and Z2PRO are suspiciously similar.

Some of my customer cars finished in Zaino, usually Z5 Pro. (Lame camera or phone pics as I don't have a fancy camera)

Like anything, most of the 'look' will come from the prep and polish stage, IMO.

In its time it was the best polymer sealant around, and then came OPT and then silicon and nanotechnology coatings.

Materials technologies and production methods that are used have changed; we need to adapt our product usage and application methodologies to change with them.

I like that high definition look, I get that from Wolfgang Fuzion.

Fuzion and Z5 look pretty similar. Maybe I've been using Zaino too long, but I don't understand the "hard to use" camp. Do a decon and then a 3 stage polish and tell me slapping on Zaino is tough...lol. ZAIO is a favorite of mine, it looks amazing and if I was smart, I'd dump my closet full of stuff and just stick with that. If love love detailing, Zaino is just one of those things you have to try. TOGWT stated there are better (or more appropriately more modern) products, but IMO, there is nothing more in your face than Z2. If someone put a gun to my head and said, gimmie the most shine possible, I'd grab Z2.

One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough is Zaino is near bottom of the barrel for protection from bird bombs and other things that etch your paint.

One thing for sure, the look isn't nearly as plasticky as some descriptions I've seen. The winner in that category is Klasse SG. Z2 and Z5 have more of a wet glass look to me.

I'm a huge Zaino fan. I love the gloss and I really appreciate the durability. I am always experimenting with new waxes and sealants on my various cars but the majority of the stable are Zainoed while many, many other products have worked their way to the back of the cabinet.

Zaino is awsome! I love most of their products. A very unique look, application and durability compared to others. There's a reason why Sal hasn't come out with anything new in a while as his line is top notch. I've been recommending clients to use the Zaino line for a couple years so far and they all love it.

From what I've been reading on the forums so far, it's looking like Duragloss is gaining momentum as a replacement/equivalent for Zaino. If this is continuing to be the case, I would say a new breakthrough from Zaino ought to come out sooner than later. :nixweiss

I think the only reason why Duragloss is gaining popularity recently is because a certain reseller is now pushing them. I've followed one of their mouthpieces go from slamming Zaino for being made by Duragloss to now thinking Duragloss is god's gift to the protection market.

This is a very accurate way of describing it. I put some Z2PRO on my father's silver RX350, and looking at it outside yesterday, it had that super-clear, "wet glass" look. It looked insanely wet on that boring silver, better than anything I've seen on it.

Does anyone know if ZFX still has it's super-short shelf life? I seem to remember reading that it only lasts like 2 years (my bottle of Z2PRO is 4 years old, yeah it takes me a long time to go through LSPs). Whenever I used Z2PRO I would put it over ZAIO, which as I understand it, negates the need for ZFX.

When Duragloss comes out with something new, I am sure Zaino will too. :lol
