How good are Griot's products?

Does Speed Shine contain silicone or waxes? I am looking for something to use while removing Klasse SG. I have read that you should use something without silicone or wax in it so the layers of SG bond better. (of course I read that after using Meguiars QD. But it still worked.

Meguiars FI:up .

It has no silicone or wax (great for klasse applications in my experience). As JB in Irvine says, better than speed shine.

I just started using their products and a friend and I also did some comparisons with their waxes. Here's what I've found.

Majority of their garage products are top notch. Yeah they're expensive and you can find them elsewhere but sometimes Time=Money and it really isn't worth spending all that time to find the source.

Their cleaning products are excellent but in some cases better products exist. I have their undercarriage spray, as soon as the wheel wells are cleaned up I'll post some pics.

We did a side by side comparison on a trunklid of the Best In Show Wax vs the S100. We asked a third person which side looked and felt better without letting them know what product was where. They said the S100 had better depth but overall shine and gloss were the same.

Speed Shine vs Final Detail. We noticed that Speed Shine does a better job at cleaning bugs, adhesive residue while the Final Detail left a more reflective and much slicker surface.

I will continue to buy products from them.

the thread has not been hijacked to a what is the best QD thread.. lets get back on track..

I dont think that GG QD has silicone in it...

I agree with most everything that JB in Irvine posted except I really like my boars hair brush.. I now really do need to try the undercarriage spray...

while i never meant to hijack his thread on what the best QD is, I was just expanding on his last thought in which he was "...looking for something to use while removing Klasse SG..."

...just trying to keep options open...but you're right...this thread is about Griot's products...

I too liked the boars hair wash brush for a while...its just under lights I did start to notice very minor micro scratches. But then again almost anything you do has the chance of creating micro scratches!

If you were refering to my silicone question, it was pertaining to the specific Speed shine product (slightly OT, sorry). However, this was my thread, right?:nixweiss :wavey

Has anyone used the paint touch-up kit with the spot sanding tool and the paint applicators (like toothpicks, but advertised to be better)? Was wondering how effective, easy, convenient it was, especailly the spot sanding tool.

rasx- Skip the applicators, you'll get MUCH better results with a cut matchstick or toothpick (I sorta like cut wooden swab sticks, they're longer when that is needed/handy).

The spot sanding tool is very good, but like the matchstick, you'll possibly have to trim it to a fine point depending on the size of the area you're working. You do't want to hit good paint with it. The fiberglass "thread" that the tool uses for its abrasive wears out VERY fast, though. Refills are available from MicroMark (pn #82027, 12/$6.95).

The Rust Avenger converter is GREAT. I don't know what I'd do without it. I've treated rust spots (no touch up paint or anything else, just the Rust Avenger) YEARS ago that are still stabilized. I often apply IT with a trimmed swab stick too (be sure to REALLY shake/stir it up). Try to keep it off your skin (no pain, just stain).

So, yeah, buy Griot's pn 50303 and get refills for the tool from MicroMark.

Great products, quick ship and excellent customer service.

Best of Show Wax is a very good product, easy on and off-machine-, durability is excellent-having said that I've recently done our two cars with Klasse.

Machine Polish is incredible.

Their car wash is the best I have ever used, slickness has to be felt to be appreciated.

Their Engine/Trans oil extractor is outstanding. I now change my oil every 2 months due to its ease of use.

No need to get under the car anymore.
