My 06 Nissan is a daily driver that I commute to work round trip apx 50 miles a day. When I bought the truck, it was the end of the model year and its was one of only two left, the other was the wrong model so I bought this one. Well to make a long story short, the porters at the dealership must have went four wheeling in my truck in red clay because it took me several pressure washs to get it some what clean. And to make matters worse, the hood had some sort of chemical caused blemish (down to primer!) in a few spots, but to make a long story short, I took it that way and it is what it is. When the weather was nice the truck got a wash by hand but has time went on and the appeal of driving thru the brushless wash for $3 made it hard to break out the bucket and hose. (stone me now, I know
)
So, fast forward to Autopia and now I am trying to make amends with my black paint job.
Last weekend we had one good day with some sun so I did a major wash and broke out the UDM for a pass with some RMG, followed by another pass with Race Glaze polish, I planned to give it one good coat on wax but the rain came and that was the end for that weekend. :angry
Today, after another wash, the weather was perfect but the sun was starting its decent but we got in a good of Adams butter wax, followed by a coat of Megs Next 2.0. I know this is a wide spectrum of products to use, some I have had, and some I wanted to try out. All in all, after it was done, I was pleased but still see some swirls/hazing so I am not sure what avenue to pursue next? Any advise would be helpful. I am focusing on the exterior because the interior is in great shape so thats no concern. I know I am on the path to paint correction but I just need to know which "trails" work better than the others (lol), any info appreciated, thanks. :bow
First pic showing the passenger side door handles is where I started (the FROM) at today which was after UDM with RMG and another UDM pass with Race Glaze Polish/wax. Rest of the pics (the TO) are after two coats of wax by hand, first with Adams Butter wax, last coat was Megs NXT2.0
