How does this combo sound

I have used AIO/SG and PP/EX. My brother in law would like me to detail his car I was thinking of using AIO/SG and topped with EX. Any thoughts????

Sounds like a good combination. Some believe that EX is loaded with solvents that may remove the SG but I have not had any problems or experienced any solvent activity on my Zaino'd vehicles. I even tried EX on the single stage paint ( hidden area) on one of my classics (red) and no red (pink) residue on the foam pad when applied like a protectant ( not using polishing pressure).

I would , if I were you, allow the SG to cure at least 24 hrs prior to applying any topper. In your case EX. :wavey

I'll confess I'm not an expert on the chemistry involved in these products. But there's no way I'd top my Zaino or SG with EX. I hope other, more knowledgeable folks will chime in.

SG has always been compatible with carnauba toppings. ALL carnuabas, which is part of EX's ingredients (carnuaba + amino resins) have some sort of carrier, which in most cases is a solvent of some sort. Do not see where Zaino enters the picture that ernman painted AIO/SG plus ?EX.

Maybe there is a person with Klasse experience that can add to this discussion. My "experience" with Zaino and EX has been favorable. The important phase or word here is MY experience.

I understand, blkZ28Conv. Didn't mean to mix apples and oranges. But both Klasse SG and Zaino are true (and, as I understand it, relatively "pure") polymer sealants. I'm hearing that EX may have lots of solvents. So I draw the inference (perhaps in error) that EX might cause some degradation of another polymer sealant.

And, yes, I do understand that SG can stand up to regular carnauba toppings ... provided they're not loaded with "cleaners." ... Or at least that's been my understanding.

I for one, like blkZ28 am not at all convinced that the EX contains solvents and cleaners...

I've never noticed any cleaning ability with it, and it didnt pick up any pink residue from blk's single stage classic...

Steve @ Poorboys says it doesn't, and I've never had any reason not to believe him.

Just for clarification, I like Lynn, do not experiment of my classics. They get the textbook time proven regimens. But on my driven vehicles (Escort (daily), LS400(wife's) and Z28 ( ~1000 miles a year) I do practice this wonderful hobby of detailing.

I love this place. :wavey
