How does HT Extreme Cut stack up against the rest?

I am looking for something with a little more defect removing ability than OC with my rotary. I have OC and IP And SSR 2.5. How does the Extreme cut stack up against OC, IP, and Clearkote Cutting cream. I have been hearing more about the HT extreme cut and it has interested me. I just dont want to buy it if what I have will work just as good.

What would you rather use for oxidation and heavy swirls? Extreme Cut or OC, IP, Clearkote cutting cream.

Extreme cut without a doubt...I would go for the $12 bottle they sell, it is a great deal. If you have a little optimum polish to mix with it on the pad even better. I have IP and OC, and did have OHC and PG. Nothing else can touch Extreme cut in my opinion..it finishes down great.

I would definately pick some up, you wont be disappointed

RAG is doing some Hi Temp evaluating, he wold be a good source for info..............i have heard some great things about its ability to finish out real nice though......

Its the best i have used.. period.

It can cut the worst of defects and finish with just a slight haze easily cleaned up by some menzerna FPII. Sean (g35stilez) and I use the following combo on pretty much every car with more than moderate swirling.

HTEC/OPT polish 50-50 @1500 rpm via light cut or cutting pad

Menzerna FPII or BLackfire SRC finishing polish via finishing or finessing pad @1200-1500.

Like I said its the best I have used and the price is also great.

Couldn't agree more, 95% of the vehicles that I see receive this exact treatment.

Ditto here too. I've used the G35stilez 'Un-Compound' mix on my past 4 details, and I'm sold. I've been pre-mixing 8oz bottles 50/50 cut with Optimum polish. No dust, excellent cutting ability, and this compound mix doesn't gum up your pads to high he**.

Well I just placed my order of HT Extreme this morning. We will se how it does on a nasty oxidized black 1984 mercedes this weekend. :waxing:

That MBZ is likely SS paint and soft. I'd use something mild like #80 to start. You'll likely be surprised by what you find under the oxidation.

How does HT Extreme compare to PG or 1Z IP/HGP? Depending on humidity and temperature, I generally experience very little hazing if any.

This is where I am at, too.

Sort of off topic and on topic at the same time but I've now tried Smooth Cut (light cut polish), medium cut leveler, heavy cut leveler (aka 357 magnum), and have but haven't yet used EC. I've found the first three to be very effective so far. In particular heavy cut and smooth cut - the heavy cut took out some serious marring on an orange pad and left the surface arguably LSP ready (which is pretty nice since it says it'll take out 1,000 grit marks). I used it on the top of my rear bumper (black infiniti paint, which is notoriously easy to haze) and it did not haze, was easy to apply, worked long and came off easy. The only downside I can see if that it does not like the heat at all.

The smooth cut is, imo, even better. I used it on my entire car and found it to have slightly more bite than FPII and left a finish that rivalled 106ff. It spreads super easy and covers a really large area and won't stop working for a long time. The only issue I had with it is if not broken down all the way it's kind of tough to remove.

I can't wait to try EC given my experience with those two. Cheers.

Anyone used it with a PC yet? I don't have a rotary or cyclo (going off to college soon, can't spend too much more money), but I do have a set of spots pads.

Anyone use it with the Cyclo? Pad recommenedations and comments appreciated.

Scott, I too use HT-EC via cyclo and have used it with both orange and yellow pads. I was able to go from HT-EC/Yellow Pad to Blackfire Finishing Polish on a Green Pad - It finishes down very nicely.
