How do you make white or pearl look AMAZING?

Did two white vehicles yesterday, and think they turned out very good. Not sure if I would consider them AMAZING, but the owners were thrilled w/ the look and slickness. I washed w/ CG citrus via foam gun, clayed w/ Meg medium, polished/cleaned paint w/ DG 101 via PC and blue EDGE pad, removed residue w/ DG aquawax. Hope this helps. They were just wash and wax jobs not full details.

My Maxima is Pearl White and I just use the same procedures/steps that everyone else uses. Like shadybreal, I don't think mine is amazing, but I can definitely see some wetness. :)

I think the key to white vehicles is making everything else stand out in the car. If you look at the above Maxima, the glass is crystal clean, the exhaust is polished, wheels and tires are perfect, cowl trim is cleaned and dressed.

Making the paint itself look nice requires polishing to reduce swirls, even though they are sometimes hard to notice on white, with a perfectly polished vehicle the paint is a lot more clear. I just purchased my first white car and it is a challenge but rewarding making it stand out from the crowd.

Many products work well on white, but mainly its about contrast and cleanliness!!! I've been having good luck with P21s as a LSP, Caranuba Jett, and AJT works well also...here are a few pictures of my Mach...

So like people have said, making white look good can be hard, but make sure you have contrast and make sure you keep up with dressing your trim :)

This past weekend: Presta polishes incl SMR via rotary. Followed by FK1 Pink Wax buffed out with DG AW.

Do you guys recommend claying for white too?

Yes, absolutely. As the owner of a white vehicle, I can say that claying is vital if you want it to look its best.

Check out my thread on the new Opti Seal. I did my white car today and it turned out breathtaking. Pics are in the detailing products forum.

I'll be trying out Clearkote's vanilla moose hand glaze followed by Clearkotes Caranuba Moose so we'll see how that looks

I am prepared to say you're gonna have a hard time exceeding the look achieved in that foto! :)

I think claying is critical for white ... all those little specs of contamination (brake dust, fallout, etc) make the white look dingy. After claying, white always looks whiter, brighter, more reflective.

Here is ZAIO after 3 months and just a Z7 wash:

I then polished with ZPC, ZAIO and 1x of Z2pro:

Today I did a QEW wash, Z6 wipedown and Clear Seal. The paint now has a wetter appearance. Will post the pics late tonight.

good question, i have no answer. i have an infiniti g35 coupe in pearl white. i put zaio, 2 coats of z5-pro, 1 coat of z2-pro, z-cs, then finished with z-8 (this was done over a period of days btw). In my view, results very good, but not amazing or head turning.

now the above will last a long time and to keep the appearance i periodically wash and then put z-8, but still, IMHO not amazing.

i did the exact same with my medium green metallic truck and the results were amazing! so i really don't know how to get a super bling apperance with pearls or solid whites.

Since both of our cars are pearl white, I've had the opportunity to try a few different combos out.

After getting the hang of using Presta's Ultra Light Cutting Creme, I really like the way it finishes down. I usually follow with FK1-215 (thanks for the help Bence!) as a good base for the LSP. RMG and CMW works very well on my wifes Acura. I'm still figuring out what I like on my Subaru as it is relatively new, but 5050 and 2180 are at the forefront.
