How do YOU maintain your pads?

Do not wash pads in the washing machine. They must be hand washed. To do so, simply add an ounce of dish washing detergent to a 5 gallon bucket and fit it with water. Soak the dirty pad for up to 30 minutes. After soaking, massage the pads to work out the caked in polish, then squeeze out the soapy water. Empty and refill the bucket with fresh water. Rinse the pads in the bucket of fresh water, squeeze, and set aside to air dry. Do not machine dry.

Thats what the "learn" section says... but it seems a bit cumbersome to have an extra 45 minutes of responsibility after detailing. So I'm curious if theres any other methods people have applied? How about using simple green?

Spray Danase pad cleaner on them, put them in hot water for 20 minutes, rinse out the cleaner and let air dry. Sometimes I put them in the dryer on no heat to get any residual water out.

I just pop em in the washing machine with some APC in the gentle cycle - never had a problem. although I pretty much only use Propel P2 and Edge pads which both aren't really prone to delamination.

I put it in the sink,

give it a squirt of dawn,

rub the dawn through with my hands

rinse all the soap out

a quick spin to dry

2 min. max

This last time I sprayed them down with Dawn Power Dissolve and tossed them in the washer on gentle, then set them out to air dry.

I neglected to mention, I also used a pad cleaning spur I just picked up from FK1. Seemed to do a reasonable job of helping to break loose the junk on the pad.

What I do is set in soapy water then scrub with an old toothbrush. After pad is rinsed off I put it in the washing machine on the spin cycle. After that I let air dry buy if I need it quick I will put it in the washer more than once.

I use DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator and it works great.

Soak them in a warm 3 gallon bucket for like 15 min.

Scrub with a brush if neccessary.

Rinse with water

Air dry them in my room.

I use Dawn Power Dissolve on the in the sink. Then i use regular Dawn Dishwashing liquid massage on rinse all soap out . Sqeeze then air dry. I had been using a product called oil eater but the DPD does a great job.

I spray dilluted 1:10 APC on the pad, let sit for 5-10 mins, then rinse/soak in bucket for 2 minutes and then spin dry with the PC.

Works flawlessly.
