How do you know when your WW towels are worn out?

Washed my car yesterday and noticed that my WW towels just aren't picking water up like before. I've actually noticed this over the last several washes, but yesterday was the worst thus far. The towels are leaving a lot of streaks and are just pushing the water around. I've had them (2) since March and use them every one to two weeks. They are always washed with other microfiber and with a detergent made for microfibers. Occasionally, I've run white vinegar through the extra rinse cycle. Perhaps it's just time for some new ones??? Thanks.

I know that other members have different experiences/opinions with this, but I always wash my WW's by themselves so I don't transfer any wax/sealant/dressing residues to them from other towels. There would also be the issue of whether you are using any WAUD-type products as you are drying, which have been associated with reduced absorbency of drying towels. This could include Wax-As-U-Dry, AquaWax, Optimum Car Wax, etc.

Oh there definetly worn out Amy, you should probably seek the help of a skilled/knowlegable detailer in your 30 mile radius. LOL.

If it didnt look like this when you were done, seek professional help, immediately.

I had the same problem but eleviated it when I washed them with vineager. I would suggest throwing in about 4-5 oz of vineager with your towels to restore them.

LOL! It is almost that time of year again. Need to talk to Lisa.

On another note, i havent had any WW go bad on me. Ive had some that get a little stiff, but there still usuable, and mar free. i just pre moisten them, then use an associate towel to follow thru with. Actually I use an associate towel anyway.......

The only time I'vd had that problem is when I use WAUD type products. Micro restore is gradually bringing them back.

I've had the same problem with my towels, and I've tried the 60 deg C wash, and vinegar in the rinse cycle...

But DFTowel suggested a boil (big pan, lots of filtered water) - and they've come back to life!

Better do it when the Mrs is out of the house, or you'll get some strange looks...
