How do you guys go about popping out a dent?

Yesterday my friend got really drunk and made 2 really small dent (I mean small as not really dented in), but the circle of dent is quite wide and since it's on the side door panel so it's rather noticeable. So, do you guys happen to know what would be the most efficient way to pop that 2 dent w/o taking it to body shop?

Also, I know I could just forget the dent, but i love my car and it's really noticeable to me since it's on the side door panel, that's why I wanna get it fix..

Thanks in advance

If your friend is paying for his error in behavior, take it to a reputable body shop that pops dents. Better to have someone who knows what he's doing to pop them then to do it yourself.

Jliao, the kind of dent you have can't be felt by your fingers right? But it does destroy the perfect reflection right? I think I got the same kind of dent on my roof...

Where there is a dent, the metal is stretched around the perimiter...so pulling it out with a "Ding King" or the like, will most likely give you an outward bump instead of a dent.

Best bet is to find a good paintless dent removal guy.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Apprently my housemate doesn't seem to give a f***, so I guess I'm on my own now. This is rather frustrating and irritating.. :(

four20,

Thanks for the referal. Although I'm currently in NorCal for school, but I'll keep that as a reference when I go home this summer.

zey,

Ya, those dents that you can't really feel by hand, but it's rather noticeable on a flat surface. It would be even more noticeable when the car is completely wash and detailed.

Jliao, sorry to hear about your irritating housemate. May I know how exactly did he bang onto your door panel causing that dent? What's the diameter of the dent?

Just have a good paintless dent removal tech take them out. I've had five small dents removed from my black Hemi and I even I can't find them.

Funniest thing, I've had a lot fewer dents in my vehicles since I stopped drinking 24 years ago and started hanging with a sober crowd. I also have a lot more money to buy detailing stuff. :D

Tom

Ya, this situation was completly unexpected. I never thought he wasn't able to control himself when he's drunk, unlike my other friends who's able to control themselves.

The dent consist of two circular dents, each is about 2-3in in diameter and it's not too deep of dent, just a little but very noticeable on the side of the car. However, the more I look at it, the more I can see there is a whole vertical dent by the circle dents.

Anyway, we went back to my car to grab some CD for the dance floor, and while I was in the car picking the CD, he said he JUMPED on to my car for some reason, then he fell off the floor. I was able to hear him jumping against my car, by then I already knew that there is going to be a dent on my car, but I wasn't able to see it that night until next morning.

I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow...

Jliao, I think cars nowadays are made of thin metal sheets. Even my boss' new 7-series has serious dents on engine bonnet and rear left door. That kind of dents are at least 5mm deep! I think we just gonna prepare ourselves with this kind of incident. Try to minimise body contact with the car while doing detailing, else things get worse.
