i was driving by the movies and saw this escalade that said

Detail Name

Master Certified Detailer

his car looked ok but i didnt think there were any certifications for Detailers what do you guys think?

I'm sure I'm wrong but it sounds like he put that in there to sound like he is a total professional and has some type of qualification like ASE or ICAR certifications. However, I have never heard of any certification program for detailing that is considered a standard in the business.

6'[]'9, I hereby certify you a "Certified Detailer." There, now you are too but you could have done it yourself!:LOLOL

They're aren't any nationally recognized certification programs for detailing.

There are however classes you can take to learn how to detail and get certified with that company. I know autoint has a school like this. Taking the class you get listed as a Gold something.

That site is NOT affiliated with Meguiars.

Meguiars does offer 3 day clinics for professionals at their HQ in California. You do come away with some sort of certificate I do believe. It is not some sort of industry wide certification but, it is something to show that you have had "some" professional training. Mike Phillips could probably provide more details.

There is at this time no "professional certification" that you can get from any organization. However, as mentioned earlier you can attend the Prepexcellence school by Automotive International in Cincinnatti and get what I consider to be the next best thing. Their program is licensed to ICAR (autobody organization) and I believe Ford Motor Co. as their training program and Ron Ketchum knows more about paint than anyone I have ever met. Money well spent IMHO if you are serious.

I know that here in Manitoba, you have to go through the insurance company for training before you can be called a "professional" I would have been working for showtime detailing if it weren't for me being 15.

OOPS!! Thats for being an auto detailer right??? Because I offer hoola dancer cert. at $99.99 and brain surgeon cert. for $299.99

Let me know.

I hope you have received your "Professional Certification" certification.
