how do i maintain a good finish?

Ok, now assume that I have done the following:

- wash/dry

- clay

- polish (#83 DACP) to get out my big swirls

- polish (#9 swirl remover) to get out the smaller swirls

- glaze (#7 show car glaze) to make it purdy

- sealant/wax (NXT Tech Wax) to protect and make it purdier

All is hunkey dorey and looks good. Let's say I wash my car frequently and do a good job...i.e. I don't introduce any swirls. What do I do next as far as maintaining my finish IF after a couple of months I feel that I want to re-wax but there have been no new swirls introduced?

Do I simply wash and then apply #7 and NXT again? Or do I have to remove the NXT and re-apply #7 and NXT? What would I remove the NXT with if I don't want to remove it with anything abrasive (such as #9)? Or do I have to start from claying again?

I'm just wondering because I'd like to keep any "abrasive steps" to a minimum.

I would think your prescription is ok. Make sure you maintain with a QD between washes, it can help alleviate dust buildup, thus extending washing periods, thus eliminating introduction of wash induced swirls etc......

If there are no swirls go ahead and put another layer of NXT. Only clay if the paint is rough when you run your hand across it, sometimes spot claying will be necessary that will take off a little protection but not much.
