How do I know if I got the "Real Deal" Sheepskin Mitt

OUCH

New member
I got this for $4.95 from Wal-Mart and I'm not sure if this is the real thing since most Sheepskin mitt online sells for atleast $15.95.

So wut do you guys think?

I would never spend $15 for a sheepskin mitt. Where are those at? $5 bucks is a good mitt. Sometimes you can get them in packs of 3 with the bug scrubber on the back for $12 or $15 bucks. $15 for one mitt is pretty high priced. What you have is par with most that I've seen.

It looks real from the photo. Look inside. If it is real sheepskin, you should see untanned leather, not a knit fabric.

Cool thanks for the Info, I got them from Wal-Mart. Always wondered about the difference between the mitts from Autopia and CMA from the ones you get from Wal-Mart for 1/3 of the price. Maybe this one won't last as long?

that may be the only factor. I've noticed that the cheaper ones I get at Costco don't last as long as the ones I get at AutoZone. I've never ordered a mitt online although I have seen some pretty unique ones I know were ordered from somewhere. Durability is probably the only factor though.

Yah looks like Untanned leather inside :D cool so I got the real deal... Thanks

There was a recent thread mentioning that Costco is currently selling packages containing a sheepskin mit similar to the photo, a second mit without a thumb with a black plastic mesh piece sewn on the back and a wash 'pad' approximately 8" square for less than 10 bucks.

And there's me paying 15 bucks for my "Australian sheepskin mitt" from CMA... looks like I'll be making a trip to Wal-Mart.

If you do pick up a sheepskin mitt at Wal-Mart or Costco, be sure to take note of which is which. Then you can fill us in on any differences. :up

Huh, NOW I run upon this trend, lol. Just bought this very same mitt from Walmart this evening and used it. Had great results, never used a sheepskin mitt before, but this one performed real nicely.

Just my cup of tea, cheap and it works, lol.

You got it! :D I bought 3 packages of them and really enjoy using them. I use the 8" square for dusting the interior. It is sooooo soft. However, they are taped together and when you pull off the tape, you pull a nice chunk of hair off too. Bone head packaging.

As far as $15 for a wash mitt - don't be turned off. I bought the black CMA wash mitt on sale and it is by far THE best thing going for washing your car IMHO.

While you're at Costco, don't forget to pick up a California Car Duster and a California Water Blade! They sell these products for half of what you would pay at Walmart!

That CCD is a life saver! We had one heck of a dust storm yesterday. It took about a half an hour to dust off, but my F-350 4x4 looks brand new again!

I got the CCD for free by accident. I placed an order online for other products, and it was sent in my order without charging me. I called and claimed I didn't order it but didn't want to pay to return it. So they said to keep it! :xyxthumbs

I went to a kitchen supply store that has sheepskin mits. The package said it was sheepskin, but the package also said the outside was a combo of natural and polyester fibers. I looked inside and it looked like sheepskin. But I guess the outside didn't have 100% sheepfur.:D Anyone else see anything like this?

You must've got one of those mutant sheepskin mitts! :lol Seriously though, that is weird and I don't know how they'd do such a thing... maybe they're referring to the cuff of the mitt?

Why are they selling a sheepsking mitt in a kitchen supply store? Is it some kind of fancy oven mitt? I can't think of any other use for it in the kitchen.

No, its not a fancy oven mit. The store is a commercial resturant kitchen suppy store and the mit was located in their cleaning suppy section. I think you can use it for polishing your buns(rolls):p J/K I'm going there tomorrow to take another look at it, the suspense is killing me. It was closed on my way home from work. Like 4DSC said, I think its mutant.

That part really pissed me off:mad:
