How did you find this site and become a contributing member?

Back at around the time I joined last fall I had some issues with my new ride. I had gotten tired of washing it every week since I bought it last spring and went back to my old way and didn't wash it for close to 3 weeks. It wasn't dirty mind you but all the bugs that collected on the front the large ones like the dragon flies had etched into the clear coat. I was doing some searching on the net to find out what was going on as I never seen that on my lighter colored cars before. I think I even found the other Autopia forum and joined there I never posted anything or even kept up on that one. I found this one at the same time and I like the information and the people seemed real nice and decided to join up. I have learned a lot since I joined here and even though it is winter and cold and haven't been able to hand wash the car. I seem to have good protection on thanks to this site and it seems to be holding up great to self serve washes at the car wash. The only bad thing about this site is my wallet keeps biting me in the backside since I joined. :lol2:

So thank you for all the help that I have received and I try to contribute what little bit I know since I am still an amateur.

Thanks,
Dean Skibicki.

I was a member on Autogeek. When I heard about AutopiaForums becoming part of the friendly civil Autogeek community I decided to join.....along with half of the existing Autogeek membership..... :bigups

This is why I am here as well.

I found this sight after doing research on a 512bbi. I read a thread by Todd Helme when I was doing a 512 for the 2009 FCA nationals. It opened my eyes that there were actually forums about detailing . After several sites when this was Detail City it seemed like a nice site. I was hesitant to post what cars I actually worked on but liked the group.

Thanks for all the replies guys. very interesting that a lot came over from AG, hadnt thought about that. Everyone else who hasnt posted in this thread please put your joining experience in this thread. Randal in freezing cold blowing snow IOWA, where you wait 5 minutes and weather will change, mostly for the worse.
