How did you find Detail City?

I just did a Google search for Detailing and Auto Detailing. All I've got to say is :google That place rules. Detail City was on the upper part of both searches. I was just curious how you all came to find the place. It seems that we should have people here who were just out searching for good detailing information.

Personally, I got here when by non-mullet buddy Dwayne asked me to be here. He knows how into cars I am and we've been friends for a long time now. I guess you can say I came here by personal invitation. I'm sure there are a lot of you who were dragged over here by a friend who was already here.

How did y'all get here? Dwayne, you can't answer this one. Sorry, its just too obvious. LOL :hippi

:google I think at the time it was sixth from the top. I saw a couple other links that were not detailing forums so i ended up here.

I was actually searching for Meguires products, to see if they had anything that would take the ink stain out of my fiance's leather seats when I get home. Detail city was I think about 3rd down from the top when I did the search from Yahoo! I scrollled through all the cool products most of which I had not heard of before. And then somehow I ended up on the forum site. I checked it out and of course :headbang (IT ROCKED). I didn't think there was anyone out there that waxed their vehilces more than I did. It was nice to know I was not nuts for being in the middle of a desert and thinking about waxing my vehicle. Now my dreams of achieving a awesome shine are more vivid and I can just see me going buck wild with a PC and some UPP. Can't wait to get home. Of course I have dreams of the fiance' too but that's a different forum.:beat

My first Platinum purchases were in June of 2002, so I have been a customer of Dwayne's for quite a while;
As I remember it, Detail City just showed up one day. I seem to remember an e-mail from Dwayne telling me about it. There weren't quite as many members or posts at the time.:p

I detailed my mom's car for free and she wanted to get me something as payment and decided on some meg's pads for my pc(what a wonderful lady). I guess she did a :google search for meg's pads and premiumautocare came up. When I got the box, it had a card on the side, logged on, the rest is history. I love detail city!:beer :headbang

I think I originally found Detail City through a Google search. At the time, there didn't seem to be much activity on this board so went off in search of greener pastures (Autopia). Several weeks ago, I met Poorboy's Steve. He knew that I found out about his products from Autopia and asked if I knew about Detail City. I told him that I'd seen the site a while ago, but that Autopia seemed to be more useful. He said that I should give Detail City another try. I followed Steve's advice and was pleasantly surprised to find that Detail City had blossomed into such an active and friendly community. To me, it has a tight knit feel like a small town where everybody knows everyone else and everybody pitches in where needed. I like it!

Ya know, I think the best thing about Detail City right now is that there aren't really a lot of newbies. We are a relatively skilled bunch of people just waiting for newbies to show up and ask their quesitons. If it was one pro and 50,000 newbies then it would be annoying. I don't think anybody here has ever told someone to use the search button. lol I like that its a small town. Its a small town of people with way similar interests and that is the best kind of town to hang out in. :beer Autopia is a good place too, but its just so big now that everybody just shouts out to use the search button because they are tired of answering the same question. The questions haven't been asked here as many times I guess so we are mor patient. :)

Yep, the first time I see the infamous "Please use the Search Function".................... I'm outta here! :angry
If someone knows of a good thread, and points the user to that thread, that fine.............. but I really hate that "Use the Search please"! (I'm too busy to answer to your question, that's why I'm spending all my time hanging around the forum) :angry

Boss don't leave before I get a chance to kick some butt! I hate when people take the time to post "Use the search" when they could have used that same time and energy to help out.

Won't be tolerated on DC! That's for sure!

Well, I know I've been a victim of asking a question and being told to use a search on other forums. Even on forums where I think I know what I'm talking about people still whip out the "use the search" thing on people. Its like a jerk reflex (no pun intended). We should make a list of common topics that people could refer to maybe. That might be a neat little reference system.

Good idea. I think that's what the ecyclopedia function on the new board is for ;)

"millhouse" told me about it.

I'm pretty sure he discovered DetailCity via StangNet.com's forums, or Corral.Net forums.

Well the Lady of the Lake cast forth Excali....err whoops wrong story.

Umm, I just found it one day, what more can I say?

Wanted to refresh my memory and find some tips to get going again,
:google search did it for me.

Haven't look any farther. No need to from what I've seen here. :)
