how cold is too cold?

40 degrees Farenheit is my threshold for detailing.

I am fortunate that I can bring my personal vehicles in the firehouse at night to wash them in the winter.

I've been reading this thread and wonder if there's a correlation between the temperature and the age of the detailer.

Or just maybe it's the amount of "O" in the OCD!

LOL

Age has nothing to do with it in my case, I'm 51.

What is the coldest anyone has used ONR? I'm planning on using it a lot this winter in the garage.

I have used it with no issues at 25 degrees in the winter. with no issues I mean the wash performed well. you have to have very warm wash and rinse water. also use rubber dish washing gloves as dry hands are warmer hands. last make sure you only wash one panel and dry it right at once. hope this helps.

I detail to put food on the table. If it is below freezing, well.....tough luck for me. If I did not like detailing, I would be doing some other job...working for someone else.....

Relax there young fella (yep, I'm older!), it wasn't a scientific study and I wasn't singling you out.

But be honest...would you rather detail when the temp is in the 50's or when it's in the 20's?

If the temp is below 55, I will only wash the vehicle. Too cold to be waxing and polishing.

I only wash the car if it's above 38, so that the water has a chance to dry before it freezes. A couple of times I had the doors freeze shut. I had to break out the hair dryer to get them open..
