How Can I remove stubborn GLUE

I have removed the window visors from my truck. Now I'm stuck trying to remove the left over double stick glue that is used to keep the visors in place. I've tried Goo Be Gone which only made it slippery, I'm trying paint thinnner which is barely removing it. I've tried the hair dryer which removed the top layer of the glue. I'm going nuts now. I've been on 1 of 4 doors now for over an hour and I'm inching my way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Your first mistake was using goo be gone on the bulk of the glue. I've installed and removed many many of those visors. The trick of it is to use your thumb and to roll the excess glue off. No glue remover no matter how strong is going to take all the bulk off at once. Once you do get it all off, alcohol should remove the last of the adhessive.

Thanks True Detailer. When I first removed the visors that's what I started doing (rolling the excess glue off). I learned this when I first removed my trucks badges sometime ago which was easier to remove. I guess I got a little impatient & that's when I used the Goo Be Gone which you are right was a mistake. I couldn't get a grip on the glue to be able to roll it off. Well, it's coming along. Thanks again.

I've had some luck with WD-40, but I figure it'll have the same effect as Goo Gone. Anyway, since most people have WD-40 lying around, it's worth a try somewhere.

Just don't be so aggressive as to make scratches on the paint around the goo as you're struggling to get it off. Good luck, and patience is a virtue here.

Thanks Forestir. I kind of forgot about WD40. Glue is all gone now. I'm just cleaning the area now with ssr1, polish & sealant. I never gave it a pass with these steps since the visor was in the way. By the way the reason I'm changing them out is because I'm getting the visors that go tucked in the channel rather than the stick on. Word of advice for those buying visors, get the in channel.

Well here is the final results. It was a pain in DB to get this glue off. I just ended up using paint thinner.
