How can I get super dirty carpet clean?

I have some really really dirty carpet so dirty that it has changed colors. Anyone know of some really strong stuff I can use on it? I have tried oxy clean and it hardly did anything. It is so dirty at this point I don't care if it bleaches the carpet white. Just tell me the strongest stuff you guys know of.

Hit it with a strong degreaser, scrub the shiz out of it a pressure washit until you run out of water. David Fermani had a great post on shampooing the carpets floating around on this site.

Is degrease stronger than that spot cleaner like Spot Magic and what not?

Yes, very much so. I've used Simple Green degreaser + pressure washer to clean light beige floor mats that had turned black.

Pressure washer followed by vacuuming works best for me.

Use a non foaming detergent, degreaser, or cleaner. If not, it'll never stop foaming, expecially if you have a low GPM Pressure washer.

The extra dirty ones is what I run into ever once in awhile. (Beige or Light gray turned yellow brown is pretty typical) Don't have an extractor yet. Still debating whether I want to go that route. Will it be the answer with a strong degreaser?

For really nasty carpets I have the best luck using a good traffic lane cleaner, work into the pile with a nylon brush, let dwell recommended times, followed by a extraction with a rinse agent.

I'm thinking a steamer in addition to a pre-treatment APC mixture could be another option but I'm not quite sure how that would hold up against pressure washing and straight degreaser.
