How can I get my paint to look like this????

I have a red RX8. I tried everything fron Zymol Concours down. The best I have found is Men. polish PO85RD (which they don't make anymore), Red M. Glaze X 2 Then Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax X 3 with each coat 24 hours apart. JMHO and a lot of wasted dollars trying other products!

That combo is my current favorite but if durablity is a issue then sealants are second best. I have been play around with the XMT series and the XMT glaze and they are some nice products. When I run out of PO85RD I will probably go XMT since I like them better then IP and FP.

Yes...when you get into good paint jobs then the you can produce some amazing results. Here is my 39 Ford with lots of hours into the paint job with RMG and PS.

A good base provides good results with just a little effort!!

Will SSR 2.5 and 1, followed by XMT Glaze, Zaino, then Souveran achieve similar results? Also if I go with a glaze will I still use Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion??

I used SSR 3 on some wet sanding marks a few weeks ago, and burnt through the paint, is this possible with 2.5??

I believe they are talking about Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax. Never tried it but with results like that, who can argue. :werd:

omg im stupid, i have some in my hand right now. :doh :doh

I have never really tried a glaze of any kind, but my main concern is which one to get and if I need the brand new bottle of Paintwork Cleansing Lotion I just recieved. I really hope the combo of Poly Clay, SSR 2.5 & 1, XMT Glaze, 2-3 coats Z5 and Z2, followed by 2-3 coats of Souveran gets what I'm looking for. You think it will?

Yup, couldn't have said it better. On CRSX in the Photography forum lots of guys take pictures of cars and they look insanely awesome. Their paint also looks perfect, and I know a lot of them bring their cars to tunnel washes, which is a huge no-no for our soft @$$ paint.

It's all about the lighting for the photography, everything else can be fixed and touched up in PS.

maybe aggressive polish, the two coats of lighter polish, two glaze steps, two sealants, then go crazy with a carnuba....

if I had a week to completely take care of a car, my process would look something like this...

Monday

wash

clay

clay again incase i missed some

wash again

interior cleaning to the max

Tuesday

start off with menzerna IP, if IP isnt getting all out, then a mix of PG/rmg 70/30

IP

FPII x 2

dress trim, wheels, and wheel wells

wednesday

poorboys ex-p sealant x 2 - once at 8am, once at 8pm

thursday-saturday

pinnacle souveran carnuba paste wax x 6 - same 8 and 8 schedule

sunday

sit back and marvel in my accomplishments, then realize i have to drive it the next day because its my DD and hit myself in the head for wasting so much time on my car....but you know what....it will be one of the nicest DD toyota tundra's on the road....

I spent a few hours to get this... it looks great but I think the camera is extra friendly :)

Nice reflections. Your paint looks flawless. Nice job.

I also like to shoot reflections of my red 1991 MR2. Here are a couple hood shots. The first photo makes it look like the paint is so slippery the reflections are sliding off. :cooleek:
