Household method of removing stubborn leather stains...

I was browsing some of the threads in this forum and came across this one:

The detailer mentioned that he was unable to remove the stubborn stains from the rear seats--tire stains, if I'm not mistaken.



Well, a while back I learned from the Lexus forums that an old trick in cleaning leather seats was to use Soft Scrub--that's right, the stuff you thought was for dishes.



Has anyone tried this at all? Any input? I haven't tried it myself, but I heard it's a hidden secret amongst dealers.
 
I think the lexus forum is advocating the use of Orange hand cleaner with pumice, for old and stained. I would use a product made for leather and do several applications.
