Hot water extractors

Anyone have any experience with hot water extractors? I was interested in using one on detailing projects but also using for the house carpet. I looked on the Top of the line web site and found the Sensei model but at just over $1300.00 bucks, it's a little pricey.

What are some name brand models that would be recommended for durability and price? I'm willing to spend the money but i come up short on knowledge on this product.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think unless you are going to be using it heavily, you don't need one of the professional ones like the one at TOTL. Bissell, among other brands, make some good ones. That's what I am going to ask for this Xmas! :up

I use an Oreck both in the house and in the vehicles. It works very well. I can only wish I could afford a professional model. Some shopvac's are also powerful enough to do wet extraction.

I had my pro distributor demonstrate the Sensei unit for me. It is a very nice machine! I'll probably be purchasing it soon. They have it for $1200 I believe.

A local detailer around me ordered an extractor from TOL and recieved it and it didn't have any hoses etc. He called them and they wanted an additional $300 for them. The guy call my distributor and he told them the hoses were suppose to come w/ the unit and aren't a seperate cost... so, make sure they send you the hoses if you order from them :)

Unless you are using it heavily though, then there are a lot of other units you can chose from. You can get one w/ a smaller reclaim tank and a tank heater if you are using it for personal use instead of Pro use.

Thanks guys, this is the type of feedback i needed (and expected from this site)$1200.00 to $1300.00 is a lot of money but i didn't want to buy a unit only to have it fail a year or so down the road.

I was thinking of spending the money once but if there are other options that offer a quality product and can save me some $, I'm there.

Thanks again
