Horrible staining on Audi TT brushed metal interior trim.. please help! :(

This is from the 'lot boys' who detailed the car for the dealer before I picked it up... that or from the window tinters. It was present when the car was delivered... but I was so excited about getting the car I pretty much overlooked it, figuring I could just wipe it off when I got it home.

Well today I got my refill of eiznett cockpit premium and got all the plastic bits cleaned up. But these spots would not come off!! No amount of scubbing with a HD microfiber and the premium would remove them. Just plain old water doesnt do anything either!

I stopped there because I don't know what to use on brushed alluminum and I didnt want to make things worse or make new stains. I have both the blue and red Wenol polishes.. but I'm not sure if the trim is coated or not or if its safe to use the wenol on it.

Can someone point me to a product that will safely remove these?? They look to be chemical overspray induced 'water marks' or etch spots, although you can't feel them with your finger or nail. I have no clue what was used to clean the interior of the car or what the marks could have been made from. I wouldn't think an interior cleaner would do something like that... perhaps a carpet cleaner though? Of course... there are similar marks on my plastic gauge covers but those seem to come off so far. I'll try some plexus on it tomorow

anyways... here are the pictures... HELP!!!!!

They are on the drivers side knee bolster, the shifter, shift boot trim ring, door handle trim, my pedals and some of the gauge trim.

TIA

edit: I just found that its on all the surounding black plastic as well... little white spots :(

well nevermind I guess.....

claybar got most of it off...

I had to use a light coat of wenol (blue tube) on the dead pedal and the boot trim ring to remove some different staining (kinda like a greasy darkness). It says on the tube safe for painted surfaces to remove bugs and stains so I figured as long as I used really light pressure it should be ok for the coated trim....

Anyways... I got all of it gone now, and no damage to anything that I could see!

congrats on removing it (I was going to suggest #0000 steel wool with Qd on the brushed aluminum, but the stuff might be coated so I digress from posting it.)

Have fun with the TT! A nice that cars supposed to be driven :)

Yeah its coated...

do you think it was ok to use the wenol on it since it is coated? some special coating crap that is supposed to resist fingerprints...

It didnt seem to do any visible damage to it... but then I just lightly brushed a coat on and then lightly swiped it off... no pressure or scrubbing to speak of

BluHeaven- It sounds like you were pretty gentle with it, so the Wenol probably didn't hurt anything. I WOULD, however, put some kind of protection (wax, sealant, etc.) on it, just in case you weakened/thinned the protective coating and to protect it from future problems.

I was going to mention wenol blue as well. Even a little AIO helps. I used AIO on similar brushed metal wipers on a 78 Mercedes 450 SEL and they cleaned right up.
