I always survey the public parking areas before I park and after I park (looking back a few times before reach the destinations such as stores) and I always try to park as far away from other cars as possible (but not too far to stand out to attract unwanted attention from some inconsiderate people). I did the same that day at Staples parking lot and as I was about to reach the store door, I looked back once more for quick check up. A middle-aged lady in beat-up car just drove off from her parking spot which was most closest to the store and, instead of leaving the areas, she headed toward back of the parking lot (no other cars there) and decided to pick the spot right next to my car (very cleanly Klasse SGed and it is bright red). I felt a bad bibe and ran toward the car and drove off to the next Staple store about 5 miles away.
On antoher day, I parked my car at the strip mall weekend morning and parked my car away from other cars (but not too far away) and there were tons of parking spots closer to the store fronts as it was the weekend morning. An old Honda (not maintained well) was next to my car after I was done shopping and I walked quickly back to my car; as I approach, the driver & passenger of that Honda were also walking toward the car (as my car and a Honda were the only cars in the section of the parking lot). As they were getting into the car, I was nervous the passenger will ding my door as she enters the car (the car was very close to my car). I let my presence know by opening trunk by remote (they got there faster than me) and waiting for her to enter (as I cannot get in my car until after that car leaves). Thank god, she did not touch my car (I was dreading the possiblity she might give me a first door dent) and I did a quick inspection on the door before I enter to make sure she did not hit it when they parked very close next to my car after I parked.
