Homemade foam pads

thats an old auction trick

Hey! That's also step number 62 of my patented "62 step detail"! :p

(And no, I don't dislike Paul Dalton. Just a little jab at the good Brit. I honestly admire his work, and am more than a wee bit jealous. :) )

I made a couple pads out of soft eggcrate foam. I found that they weren't as durable as automotive pads and were a bit aggressive due to the larger pore size-they didn't leave as high of a shine as smaller pore pads.

Interesting...thanks for posting

That is some valuable info.

Is that before or after appling armor all tire foam to the entire car

So rubbing a foam pad on a CD is the way to test if it'll scratch? I need to decide whether or not I'll use the pads that came w/ my Makita 9227 or not. I'll scratch test them, worst case I can use them on the wife's car. :D
