Im just a poor college kid trying to get into detailing i dont have a pc yea there is just not enough money to go around I guess i could just not get some of my books :) well anyways i was wondering if anyone on here knows how to make a homemade foam gun i have every tool imaginabe at my figer tips (Technology education Major)

I'd examine this and come up with a game plan. You'd need a nozzle gun, some brass fittings, a bottle and a imagination. :2thumbs:

I need to see what the nozel looks like and if there is something going down into the bottle basicaly i need a pic of every part then im sure i could make something.

The nozzle has aeration holes in it (visible in the pic evo77 posted) , that allow air to mix with the solution and thus creat the suds/foam. Not sure if the tip of it has a functional effect other than making the output fan out over a certain arc.

If you had the parts needed laying around it would be worth trying to fashion your own, but I'm guessing if you needed to buy the parts it would be cheaper to buy a complete foam gun. But hopefully you can find a cheap alternative way to make your own! Goodluck and keep us posted!

You’re fighting an uphill battle for sure.

The critical shapes and dimensions are machined inside the brass center section and aeration nozzle. These create the venturis that siphon up soap solution in the correct ratios, mix it with the incoming water stream and then mix the water stream with the correct ratio of air.

The air passage orifices in the diluter are really small. (That’s not them in the left picture, those are opposite the orifices and are massively huge in comparison.) I don’t know how they’re made but I doubt they’re drilled in the normal sense. EDM? Laser? I don’t know. :nixweiss

Ace hardware sells a Gilmour dilution sprayer for about $18. You may be able to fabricate a venturi aerator to attach to it.

PC.
