Holograms

Hello All,

I have a 2000 BMW M Coupe in Steel Grey Metallic. I had the hood replaced and repainted after some schmuck crashed into me in a parking lot. In any case there are still some faint holograms after some time. I have a Flex DA. What combo of pads and polishes would you recommend? Would slow revolutions take care of this, or is it best to use fast revolutions for a shorter time. Agressive pad or not?

all best,

Jeff

Milarsky- BMW paint hardness seems to be all over the map, from stupid-soft to rock-hard. And who knows about how the repainted areas will be!

But *my* (limited) experience with BMWs of that era was that they were hard. My Flex worked great on them *with the right products*. I removed holograms with both orange LC (for pretty nasty holograms) and orange Griot's (the latter being about the same a LC tangerine) and fairly aggressive products; you might even need M105. Very light holograms came out with the Griot's orange and M205, but those were *LIGHT* as in, barely there.

Don't use a pad that's *so* aggressive that it'll leave issues that're worse then the holograms. I don't think you'll need a true cutting pad, for instance.

I use the highest speeds the Flex can give and as many tries as necessary. Don't overwork the product when using high speeds though.

When correcting holograms I usually use white LC pad with Menz SIP. Works great and finishes down great, spead 6

I just had my black hood replaced and repainted from hitting a deer. Lots of rotary holograms by the booby shop. White LC and M205 was all that I needed. Holograms tend to be light marring, but how hard the clear is does matter.
