Lately there has been some discussion about sprayers and wanted to share one I picked up the other day at Walmart.
The other day I was looking at household cleaning supplies and noticed the label on this sprayer. The quality of it didn't look the greatest but the label on the bottle sucked me in, Hi Output 3X Adjustable Sprayer. While I have been using CG chemical resistant sprayers and have been very happy with them my thought for this one wasn't a chemical product, I was thinking more along the lines of APC or WW type products so I thought for $2.95 lets see if it works.
Well today I did a non scientific test just to see if it really was a 3X sprayer. I filled a CG bottle along with this one and filled each bottle with 16ozs of water and set the spray pattern to a normal atomized spray much like what you would use for an APC or WW. After priming each sprayer I pumped each one 100 times and then poured the remaining water back into a measuring cup to see how much water was used. While it wasn't truly 3X I do have to say this thing puts out a ton of water with each pump. More than enough to do a pre-soak for an ONR or WW. Three or four pumps will defiantly flood a typical panel.
So for the results of all the pumping.
100 Pumps of the CG sprayer used 6ozs, while 100 pumps of the Formula 3X's sprayer used 10 ozs. So maybe not 3X's but almost twice as much water was sprayed. Now if you were to compare it to the cheapo 99 center sprayer it may very well be 3X's. As you can see from the pictures the barrel if that is what it's called is much larger in diameter than the CG sprayer.
