Hmmm..Prestone QS = OCW?

Except we wouldn't, because it's been discontinued, and there just seems to be a few bottles floating around.

True. But I know I wouldn't be on here typing while the remaining bottles get snagged by other people lol.

They smell alike. Same looking bottle. Same color. QS is thinner. The shiner I don't know because my car was already shiney to the max. But one thing for certain they are not the same concentration of formula if the same formula at all. The OCW DEFINITELY has more carnuba wax requiring more buffing to remove it. QS is just a couple of swipes with the detailing cloth and it's gone. OCW takes a lot more work for removal and buffing to get it off. Hope this makes sense, hard to discribe. I just tried it on a small area because I am letting some Wolfgang sealant I put on yesterday cure. What's the better product IMO OCW.......Good Detailing

Today I stopped at Pep Boys and picked up a bottle to prove to all who question is Optimum Prestone or is Prestone Optimum. I wanted to have both products so you would not think I was talking out of my butt. I know for a fact that Optimum dose not private label there products. Some people need proof and this may not be enough.

Both products come in the same bottle produced by the same mfg. Novapak. This is where the similarities stop. They look and smell completely different. The Prestone dose not separate like the Optimum. I will let the pictures speak for them self.

David is a stand up guy and I don’t think he deserves this BS.

Well I think that is a great side by side comparison Ron....very cool! It should be clear now that they are not the same.

PS - shave your arm

Good enough for me. OCW definitely not Prestone and visa versa.

I think most of the people are right about business men though, not saying David is but, business men dont always tell the full truth. Everyone here with a business should know that, even though you may try to be as truthfull as possible sometimes you may not tell the whole truth. Lets say you have a competitor in your area and they do better work than you or just as good, but they charge much less, over half, would you tell your regular customer if they ask about him that he does great work better or just as good as yours? If so your stupid and you just put yourself out of business. So you get my point.

I get your point but on Autopia, vendors and manufacturers would be better served by being honest since there seems to be a trend to prove either someone is simply relabeling products or allows private labeling but isn't upfront about it.

No wonder representatives of car care companies no longer post here. Too much open hostility and seeming intent on digging up dirt about them or their company.

I guess I should have put some in clear bottles. Good work!! Like I said OCW defintely has max wax, is harder to spread and buff. QS is just how it sounds, you spray a couple of wipes and you have removed it from your car. I still beleive they smell alike though. Defintely Different!!

MDRX8,

OCW is just as easy to use. You have to shake it really well!!! When not shaken properly, OCW's sprayhead tends to spit thicker substances, and the wax is hard to remove. Give it a REAL GOOD shake, and it will be as easy as a QD. Just a light wipe and it is off.

Like someone else already said, it would not be in his best interest to tell the truth on this matter. Businessmen will always be just that, businessmen. If it 'was' true and he admitted it, I think everyone would be running to Pepboys to get their OCW at an incredible price.

Why would it really matter? He still makes money on each sale.

Take Clearkote for instance. Mr. Glass allows his distributors to set their own prices and he allows private labeling-and they can also set their own price. Regardless of where you buy his products, either from him, a private labeler or one of his distributors, he makes money.

True, but we are talking a significant price difference here. Either way, the products are not the same according to this thread so it really makes no sense arguing over this lol. :wall

I just got some Prestone QS and it works great, definetly not OCW though. Great still and I got it at Wal-Mart which still stocks plenty for $3.44, great price too. They also have the Prestone Wax (sythetic stuff) for $3.44 for 20oz, pretty good wax too, not the best but still worth the $3.50.

OK, 8 pages later...

Methink we need a new thread about Zaino being re-labeled something or rather

(re-labeled NXT perhaps). :LOLOL

Now, we will be talking about nuclear holocaust instead of some minor flame wars. :grinno:

OMG!!! :LOLOL :LOLOL :LOLOL

NXT = Z2. Both are liquid, and both come in plastic bottles!!!!!1111!!!!11! :woot:

Z2 = re-badged NXT. (or vice versa - I can't tell.)

Here is my reasoning...

1. Both came in petroleum derived (read: plastic) bottles.

2. Both of them are labeled in English (there are over 200 languages in the world - what is the chance of this happening!)

3. Both are liquid, don't separate, and make the paint incredibly shiny and slick.

4. Last but not least, they have some nice fruity smell (one being lime and other being strawberry-ish).

So, my conclusion is:

Once is happenstance.

Twice is coincidence.

Three times (or four) must be enemy actions! :nervous2:

in the interest of not being sarcastic, I won't say that ocw also equals the rain clear product that properautocare.com is selling, but the bottles look strangely familiar. I'm still waiting on my OCW and am dying to try it. maybe invisible glass = souveran ...lol

If this isnt the biggest bunch of tin foil hat wearing, paranoid, conspiracy theory looking for bunch of people, I dont know who is! LOL ;)
