They may have been painted seperately (I know for sure that the WS6/SS/Firehawk hoods were not painted at the factory but rather at ASC or SLP). Many have noticed slightly different colors between fenders and front and rear valances. Also on my car the plastic front fender is pretty smooth yet the plastic door panel has more orange peel. Those minor differences in paint quality can lead one to think that one product provides more depth or sharpness or wetness when the paint quality can be affecting your perception. Also the difference in paint hardness varies between steel and plastic panels. I find the plastic panels have softer paint. The contours of various panels can provide varying degrees of depth. To compare depth large flat panels are best.
