Highest quality microfiber brand

there are many good companies who sell top quality microfibers (viking, cobra, etc, etc, etc), it just comes down to personal preference....

There are so many towels but i remember i got a towel from Ranney as a complimentary for ordering from him. That is my best towel and use that for only waxes. Its so nice and soft. I've never felt anything better.

I guess we got 3-4 maybe more "super" brands out of that BMW335, I agree it's daunting to us new folks.

For me, I started lurking a week or two ago & read enough posts in one thread to indicate that the wally world MF was a safe/good deal. So I bought a bunch as it looked decent & was cheap.

THEN I read on certain sites that there's GOOD & bad Chinese MF & you KNOW WallyMart is outsoursing to low bidder.

Well Gol-Lee... I don't wanna scratch my new car finish QD'ing so I MAY (seriously ) be relegating my el cheapo's to tire work? Or go buy costco "better" cheapo's?

It's hard when you are inexperienced to know what to trust and threads around here with opinions are just like ________ everyone has one so it can be conflicting info overload. I mean "What if WallyW MF is just as good as Costco? What is "the test"?

Better yet: How low can you go TYPICALLY and still pass "the average Autopian's test" ?

Because I don't know yet if I can tell micromarr from a ham handed stupid move I could make with a $30 towel.. (whine/groan/lament..)

that being said:

Those DF Concours looked really good... shocking to see em do that with Cotton.

Me, I think it's that one or that ..."fluffy" one someone mentioned earlier. Unless someone can talk me out of table ing my collection of WallyW cheapos or I buy a costco card....

I don't wanna lose a good Karma rating on a rant but I guess I just read too ^#^%$^ much..

I mean... I'm not made out o dough like Leno & his garage... who is..

I'm looking for SAFE SMART BUYS but I will spend big $$$ if I need to to do what's best for my finish.. I'm sure that's 335's opinion too (or he'd be M6 guy?) Just teasin, I love BMW 3's...

I bet the guys who buff with MF from Costco have cars that look better than I could do if I wore a full body cast of DF concours... :-)

Why don't you put together a small order at a couple of different places, then judge the products against your other cheaper MF's.

I think the Monster Fluffies @ 3 for $19.95 is a Great Deal on a Very nice towel. The DF Towels are also quite affordable. 3 Cobra Jrs for $12 is pretty affordable, 12 Elite chubbies from CG for $36, all these towels are ALOT better than my Costco cheapies that are pretty nice, but clean door jams.....

These towels if taken care of can last a long time..

I actually use mine for the "Clean work". :)

I'll only use a towel once to buff off polish or sealant though. After that it is used strictly for cleaning wheels/wheelwells, drying door jambs etc. I was the same way when I used to purchase the expensive superplush Cobra towels from Autogeekwhere 3 of them were over $20. It just wasn't very cost effective and I absolutely refuse to use the same towel to buff more than once.

With 24 at my disposal though, there is never a shortage of microfibers fresh from the packaging to keep the finish looking brand new and marring free.

You know they can be washed....right?

I give a lot of weight to two things:

1. testimonials from knowledgeable people; the more knowledgeable, the more weight I give them

2. general reputation of the vendor, because the really good guys are not going to do anything to harm their rep just to make a buck.

That's why I don't want to take a chance on WalMart, etc. Not that they're necessarily bad, but *I* don't have any way of telling in advance.

My latest favorite: DF Towels. :xyxthumbs

YMMV

I really like the DF towels too, but I've seen what are supposed to be the "new" DFs and they were very different in color and texture to the ones I have. I don't care for these newer ones.
