Higher Resolution Souveran Photographs

Actually, the finish after SSR2.5 is very smooth so it works well.

Ah, OK, [Accumulator nods head...]

SHICKS- I dunno what *you* will like best, but I suspect the best look would come from Souveran straight or over something like UPP. I'd leave the SG out if you're going for maximum looks, I'd include it if going for maximum durability.

FWIW, I use it over Autoglym's SRP, but that's on the XJS where I have, uhm, my own vision of how it oughta look :o

I used to use it over Pinnacle's Creme Glaz and *that* looked nice, but the Creme Glaz has been off the market for years.

:up Lee,

That is phenomenal looking black paint. You do realize you're making me envious! I think I had better put on some shades...

You've done exceptional work as always. Souveran is definitely on my list to use on black.

Camera was a Nikon F100 with f2.8 ED 28-70mm lens shooting Fuji slide film then scanned by Fuji pro gear. :)

I am researching a proper digital camera and in the mean time borrowing my friend's Canon for a week.

Lee,

Just fantastic work! Souveran is my favorite on my Jet Black BMW, and I also found that it is better right after AIO with the SG omitted. Last weekend I detailed a new 330i Performance package for a friend, and where there were scratches I used SSR 2.5. Then straight to AIO and finally Souveran Paste. I ended up dropping some precious chunks of Souveran on the ground and felt like an idiot. But I really like how the Poorboy's polish works, and it is easy to remove. Again, thanks for the inspirtation. It is pictures like these that make me want to detail.

INCREDIBLE, although I wouldn't expect orange peel from a beemer.

I just order some souveran today and I can't wait to use it, these pictures didn't help either, such a tease!

Just about every BMW has OP and plenty of it, its all about the process they use to paint their cars.

Outstanding pics!

I want to get Souverän also, but I thought wax doesn't add to appearance, it just protects.. So how does this wax increase the shine?? Your car is AWESOME, but perhaps someone could help me understand.......:nixweiss

It very much adds to the appearance...it adds a very wet look, hard to describe until you see it in person-ultra liquid look. Quality surface preparation is the key as is a careful microfiber based buffing/QD ritual.

Jet black (non-metallic) paint is fantastic to work with, and will 'wetten' up very nicely with good prep and product use.

IMO you don't necessarily need souveran to achieve that look though, just the right paint in the first place, attention to detail in the preperation, and correct use of quality products.

Thanks Lee, I was unsure whether or not to post, I didn't want to hijack your thread, I just felt that this pic could show that not only souveran can give a great wet appearance, the topper wax on this vehicle was 1z Glanz Wax.

It is easy for some people to believe that all they need to do to achieve a finish like your outstanding BMW is buy product X and they have the result, and only product X will give it. Whether that be souveran, zaino or whatever ...

However, those of us with a little more experience tend to realise that in fact there is a shed load of work that has to happen first, and then and only then, maybe results like yours are possible.

I have Glanz Wax as well and really like it and I agree with you - surface prep is where I spend 80-90% of my time.

That is so true, can be very painstaking, all with mini steps inside each step. The results are spectacular when everything carried through though :bow
