I know most of the pro's do this more as passive income over regualr income so it got me thinking. How many of you guys have college degrees and what in? I'm working on my third degree right now. (AAS of design engineering, AAS of Graphic communications and working on my BAS of Game Programming right now) Just wondering what your degree is in and if you're currently working in that field of study.

Associate Desgree is Business Administration in 2005

BlackBerry Certified Support Specialist in 2009

Department of Homeland Security Counter-terrorism diploma - currently working on

BA in Marketing/Management with a Sales minor. I'll say this....all the degrees in the world won't make you a great detail business owner. Real world experience is key IMHO.

I have a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from King's College. However, since on the job, I have received numerous professional certifications.

B.S. Exercise Physiology

M.S. Exercise Physiology

ATC

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist - NSCA

BS in Health Science (Health care Management), and a minor in IT. BTW, I disagree that having a college education will not make you a better business person. Obviously some are born with it, and experience definitely helps, however, college gives you insight into many things that will help you in the business world.

BSE in English (specialized in comparative Lit, Creative Writing, and Communications)

Minor in Fine Arts (Sculpture)

Minor in Philosophy

Spent 6 years auditing Business, Sociology, and Psychology as well. They didn't all fit into my semesters and I didn't want to necessarily get credits, so I befriended professors and attended classes out of sheer desire to learn.

My next step is to pursue a Masters in Theological Studies. I just don't know when it will fit in to "the plan".

I learned more about business from running my business and reading books then I have from my business degree and ~3 years of GL accounting. BUT the degree is an excellent knowledge base.

B.S.- Human Physiology w/ a minor in Chemistry

M.S.- Clinical Anatomy

M.S.- Biomedical Sciences

I know very little about anything business-related.

I am an LPN I work part time in that field....at peak season I do 8 to 10 cars per week. I make more money as a detailer than I do as a LPN. In fact I blow many people out of the water doing paint rejuvenation ....which is my very first love. I eat up scratch removal on high end pieces....its just what I do. We all have a niche or something we have a passion for. I have been polishing cars since I burned my moms Galaxie 500 fastback....She was indeed pissed. I was learning and still am, 38 years later.

Business is a niche you either have or YOU DON'T. If you are not good with finances and don't have a feel for labor rates ....GET A PARTNER WHO DOES. If you cant feel your way around SELF EMPLOYMENT you will know in short order if its NOT for you. Like when you try to pay your bills. For example, we have had over 4 feet of SNOW this Winter....work has been very slow detailing.....but that does not mean I did not pack some away like a squirrel might for Winter. I also have my medical position but try to work less than 20 hours because the medical field can be very hectic.

David is right, if you havent lived it, it is green territory for you. In detailing, its about putting the best work you know how, out there for all to see. Building your business one detail at a time. If you do 100 great details and one lousy detail ....thats the one folks seem to hear about.

Working on my BS in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering and also minoring in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics.
