High end Turtle Wax?

Look for post #81 and #83 in this thread, in those Totoland mentions that he tested it out, but it only lasted a week for him...

It looks nice after youre done, it definitely leaves a very glossy finish but it doesnt hold up long at all. It doesnt leave that smooth feeling on the paint after one night outside.

Then it certainly isn't even comparable to Zaino, which lasts at least a year on my vehicles which are parked outside all the time.

I work at Advance Auto Parts and we stock both the Ice, and the E1 Nano Spray Wax.

The ICE has been flying off the shelves since we stocked it, the Nano not so much. Personally I haven't tried either product, and dont intend to. I believe the whole "Ice" and clear cool looking bottle is just a gimmick to attract peoples attention. I mean sure it looks good...but for a week?

Anyone seen the 30 minute Ice Infomercial? It was all over the place this weekend. Don't know that I've ver seen a full infomercial for a wax before unless it's one of those 'hit it with a laser, set it on fire-you can't hurt it!' type of products. Couple of interesting things on it: they interviewed a number of people who were happier with Ice than with their old product, and then asked them what they had previously used. I think every answer was Mothers or Megs.

The most interesting thing was that Mystique and Alan Leventhal were endorising it. If you don't know who Leventhal is, he's the nut that bid up that prototype car @ Barrett-Jackson a few years ago. He seems a little off to begin with.:)

And they kept showing the rather large-chested host applying it with about 4 rings on her fingers and dangly bracelets on the hand she was using. Had to watch it four times to notice the rings & bracelets.:)

Ice lasts longer then a week durability wise and the look lasts a week in good weather but i havn't use many waxes except poorboys and the like that keep the same look a week later.....

So Kool it lasts two weeks then? Sorry, every review I have read about Ice says the durability is lousy. TW should have just continued development on the Platinum line and forget the gimmicks. I know plenty of other products that still look great after a month let alone a week.

What's really amazing is the diehard TW followers who actually believe, or convince themselves it's good (hard to believe they actually exist). On an auto forum I belong to, a couple of people were recommending it to other members for it's durability and shine. They swore up and down ICE gave them protection for months, one guy said a year. It's funny, cause the product only came out this past January.

I just can't figure why people would use that crap, when they can spend a little more money for a proven product. I had a guy in the park come up to me when I was detailing my car yesterday. He said it looked good, but I should try TW. Here I am on a 3rd application of SG, and he's recommending TW? Of course, his car was dirty as heck. I bit my lip. It's baffling.

Unless my buddies ZX2 is some magical car, the water still beads quite nicely and it's been over 3 weeks now.... He even tested it last night and water beaded on it..... You don't have to believe me but i am not some "TW Fanboy" praising it for no reason, i seen it with my own eyes and the water was beading.... The look is basically gone but it's still there.

Personally i have never seen a wax that stopped beading after a week anyway....

The detailer is great and works better then any detailer i have right now..... TW does make some good products and the Ice line seems to be quite good, but what do i know
