Hiding dings...

Sadly after 3 years of ownership my car finally has a ding on it that can't be repaired with PDR. The only option would be to repaint, and that just can't be an option for such a small thing.

The ding is located on the "dogleg", that little strip of metal between the rear wheel arch and the rear passenger's door. They played around with it with PDR and it made it look somewhat better but they didn't want to push it and split the paint.

Any tips or tricks to hide something like this? Its not all THAT noticable but it really bugs me. I'm considering having a strip of the 3M clear bra material installed there thinking adding another layer, especially since it has that little bit of peel to it might hide the ding that much more. Anybody think that'd work or have any other ideas?

I'll post a pic ASAP.

Doing anything might just make it more obvious. Take a picture of the car, upload it, and we probably won't be able to tell where it is. Just consider it a badge of ownership.

I think you might just have to coem to grips with this one. I have a ding in my rocker panel that the PO did. I just sat down next to it one day and stared at it for a while... we kinda bonded that day, me and that little ding. :D

As previously posted, adding anything to it may draw more attention to it.

The first one is always the hardest!

True, I had considered that. Good thing about the 3m shield though is that it can always be removed if it doesn't look okay. In the least it'll keep me from having to always polish scrapes out of that area from people getting into and out of the car...
