Wow! Very dramatic video.
Victory-- thanks for the information about how to tell when the tire was manufactured!
I'm definitely going to commit this to memory and go check all our tires tonight!
I don't know how old the tires were as I no longer have them, but I've had a two separate experiences of tires suddenly going bad (on different vehicles and tire types with different driving conditions):
1. Residential driving with small Chevy pickup truck-- Front passenger tire suddenly shredded (sidewall > tread). Occurred at low speed, no damage or loss of control.
2. Freeway driving with Volvo sedan-- Rear driver tire suddenly lost all air pressure despite no defects found in the tire. Lost control of vehicle-- only minor damage sustained to car, no personal injuries.
Both were scary experiences I would not wish on anyone.
So, as you can see, I'd like to prevent a repeat performance and I appreciate the information!
Thanks!
