Hi-Temp Terminator Paint Sealant

Hi, folks. I picked up a bottle of TPS and I plan to try on my wife's blue Mazda this weekend. I have some questions for those who've used the product:



1. Can it be layered over another sealant or an AIO, or does the paint need to be "nude?"

2. Can it be layered over itself, given enough time to cure?



The product's description makes it sound like a high-durability sealant. Have you found this to be true? TIA
 
I got a sample to try from Al and used it on my waverunnners. I figure the harsh environment will be a great test for durability. It applied very easy and looked great.
 
Hi Temps Terminator is some nice stuff.....easy on and off...nice finish also...very durable...I have used it on boats..cars and trucks....and a my son's motorcycle....



very slick and beads nice ....no trim staining....non cleaner...and layerable...it is pretty glossy when cured...2 coats look super....



I used the paint perfection which is there AIO..it is a mild abrasive cleaner sealant..then I would top x 2 after...



it is worth having

Bedo - Brandon1 has a quart - one I traded him that I never used and he told me he's never tried it either. Maybe you can get a sample from him.
 
I still have to put on a second coat based on Al's recommendations. I might have the fastest waverunners in the state :)

Oh...I meant to also state ..that the Hi Temp Poly Seal is a great companion spray for Terminator....



When I first came to Autopia...Anthony O was a big user of Hi Temp before he went to Optimum....I PM'd him and asked about Terminator and a few other products...he reccomened me the good ones...I bought them all and have been happy with the looks and performance....Terminator and Poly Seal are 2 very good products..and will not break the bank....

I would like to respectfully concur. I have both and I find them very satisfying to use.
 
I was hoping to post a followup with my impressions, but the detail didn't happen as planned. I set aside the day to do the car, but it seems like my family had other plans. <sigh> Maybe next weekend.
 
I'm interested in the Terminator. Any thoughts on durability? Also, the poly plat spray says it will remove other wax due to cleaning ability. So, do you use it on the Terminator sealant?



the two week cure time is a turn off to me, but oh well.

were did you here it was a 2 week cure time....24 hours I was told....36 is optimum as its a heavy polymer based product...When I called Hi Temp a few years back and asked about the cleaning abilities of Poly plate...they said its does have light cleaners in it to remove fingerprints and grime..but never heard it removed wax or sealants.....Top of the line is the one who claims it will remove wax...I never seen it do it....leaves a real nice finish...it's like a spray sealant...u spray it on wipe it in..it hazes a bit..wipe off....





Terminator is very over looked....super durable...nice stuff to work with....work well in winters up here...I do some work trucks with it come fall and still looks good in April....

I've used the stuff, once, over the Paint Perfection AIO.



It is a very thick liquid, and needs to be worked into the paint with an applicator until nearly clear. Wipe it off immediately.



It really doesn't bead water all that well during the wash, it beads nicely in the rain however. You might not even think there was anything on the paint during the wash, but let the water flow over the paint, come back 1-2 minutes later, and there is hardly any water left on the surface.



I will say it looks very nice on silver, a "thick", wet look.
