Hi-Temp Extreme Cut vs Menzerna SIP

Hey Guys,

I currently have some HTEC and would like to try some SIP. I was wondering if there is a huge difference between the two? Also, how badly does SIP dust? I am going to place an order soon at AG, so any suggestions/advice would be great! BTW...I will be using SIP with a cyclo, and was wondering if this is a suitable combination?

I have never used a cyclo, but via rotary they are pretty different. HTEC has quite a bit more cut, but doesn't finish down nearly as clean as SIP. Personally I have both and use them when needed since I find them to be almost completely different in cut, finish, working time, dusting, etc... Basically HTEC is a heavy cut compound that almost always needs a 2nd step to finish down clean, it's for moderate to heavy marring on all paint. SIP is a medium cut compound that can finish clean on average to hard paints (and sometimes on soft paint if you're careful); SIP is more in line with HTHC, but I find those to be pretty dissimilar also.

SIP does dust, but not nearly as much as IP.
