Hi I am new to this site my friend NivindraLR told me about it and he nothing but good thing to say about the site. I have been detailing for couple years and I am looking to buy a rotary polisher I have used the mikita 9227 and the dewalt along with the pc orbital polisher but I have yet to try the cyclone polisher. I am going to buy the mikita unless someone has some good results with the cyclone.

a10v28- Welcome to Autopia! Much as I love the Cyclo, if you already have a PC and are familiar with the Makita rotary, I dunno if you'd really get that much bang for your buck with the Cyclo. The Makita will do things that the Cyclo can't (except maybe with the new pads they're coming out with), but you *do* have to take extra care with the Makita.

I do find the Cyclo so pleasant to use that it's my go-to polisher. I use the Cyclo on every detail and I seldom use the rotary, but that's just me.

Thanks for the info i will take your input in to consideration when i make my finial decision. I dont own the pc this will be my first time owning a polisher but i have experiance with rotary and pc. I used a rotary with the guy I worked for.

I bought a PC this summer and it's the best thing I could have gotten for detailing. However, I'm the kind of person that's way too impatient to wait for it to slowly break down the more agressive polishes and compounds. I'm now finding myself wishing I had skipped the PC for a while and just done 'by hand' work for a while, to save up for a rotary. With nearly $300 invested in the PC and pads already, I could have had a good rotary set up going with pads and everything.

I while I haven't used the Cyclo yet, I'm willing to say that it would be the best polisher to start with. It's a bit faster (from what I've read) than the PC, but not quite a risky as a full-out rotary.

Good luck :wavey

Thank you for all of your input I am going to buy one of them next week. I am still trying to make my decsion

If you need a rotary, well, you need a rotary :D Though the new pads for the Cyclo will apparently do almost the same work.

There are a few of us who *just love* the Cyclo, including myself, ScottWax, Bill D, Anthony O., and a bunch more I can't think of right now.

FWIW, I hardly ever use my rotary, but I use the Cyclos on almost every detail. I use them much more than I use my PCs and like them much better.

I will never own nothing except the 9227, but you have to know what your doing. It's not that hard but you can do harm if you don't follow the basics. You can definitely achieve better results with rotary much easier, but they can be dangerous. I have used PC but not cyclo, they look heavy and I don't like watching two pads as opposed to one, also buying two pads as often as buying one could be another drawback, but many people do love them.

Accumulator thanks for the info i will make my decison this week on which one to buy.

Burlyq thank you for your input i have the skill to use the rotary. I used the dewalt with a guy i work for and i used the 9227 before also it is just the matter of what i want.
