Here's something that I've been doing.....

Would like some input from the pro's. When I remove hazed wax from the paint I found that a soaked and wrung out microfiber towel followed immediately by a dry one works like a million bucks. I liken it to doing drywall spackling and using a moist sponge to smooth out the crud.
My question is this ..... should I abandon this idea or is it okay ? I haven't noticed any protective difference from years past. One person said "But, doesn't that wash off the wax ?" I said " I sure hope not, as the rain may do the same thing."
Anybody ?

If the Vehicles Surface temp is hotter than the ambient Air Temp this is an excellent practice. I like to do the two handed wipe in this case one damp and one dry.

The only issue I would see is when using a paint sealant that requests no water for the 12-24 hour cure time. Using a damp towel could possibly affect the sealant longevity or bonding. Just a thought.

Good question. A better solution is to apply less so you don't have the need for a damp towel.

A good sealant or wax when applied properly should not need you to do anything more than remove the excess in one quick step.

It might not be a good idea to do this depending on what product you are applying. Like Jared said, introducing water to a paint sealant before it has had time to cure is not a good idea and will effect it's durability.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I haven't used a sealant before but am planning on getting some soon. I am glad I asked.
