Here is My tire and wheel cleaning process, what is yours?

When going to wash the vechile this the the first thing I do are the wheels and tires.

I actually like cleaning wheels and tires for some odd reason. For the wheels I prepare a bucket of NXT Generation or Deep Crystal Car Wash or even sometimes I use a cheaper car wash soap, and then dip a wheel brush in the bucket, if needed, I spray the wheel with Meguiars Wheel Brightener. Then I scrub off all brake dust, dirt and grime.

For the tires, I do the same thing but use either Purple Power 4:1 or Greased Lightening or sometimes I use Meguiars APC Plus.

Whats products and process do you use?

Wheels and tires get sprayed down with Optimum Power Clean @ 3:1. While OPC is dwelling on the wheels, I'll scrub the tires. Wheels get cleaned with either a mf wheel wand or rag that has been dipped in ONR.

I probably do more than I need to, but I don't do this for a living.

1. Spray wheels down with either Griot's wheel cleaner or P21S Gel if they are really bad.
2. Spray the tires down with Griots rubber cleaner or APC if they are really brown.
[both set for a while as I fill up buckets for the wash]
3. Hit the tires with a Griot's tire brush - I like the handle - it makes it a little easier for me.
4. EZ wheel brush for the insides & spokes and a horsehair brush for the front of the wheels.
5. Rinse.
6. Gripe and moan about all the stuff left that will have to be clayed off the wheels. :cursing:
7. Poor Boy's wheel sealant for painted/polished wheels
8. Surf City Garage Beyond Black dressing for the tires.
9. Check tire pressures while I'm at it.

Hey Nick... I'm like you, I love working on wheels and tires. It's probably because they tend to get neglected the most and you can get dramatic results!

I wet the wheels and tires, use Westleys Bleche White on the tires/Mothers wheel cleaner on wheels.

Then scrub with a long handle tire brush/spoke brush.

Rinse and dress.:thumbup:

Then i clean the rims front to back using the Daytona speed master brush and then the tires. ZCS on the rims, Z16 of the tires.

Yep, wheelwells are probably just as dirty if not more than the wheels and tires.

My wheel and tire process is very much a process in process. But here's what it currently looks like:

1) Hose off wheel well, tire, and rim.
2) Apply APC+ to well and let it sit.
3) Apply Eimann Fabrik Tire Cleaner to tire and let it sit.
4) Brush down wheel well with cheap brushes I picked up at Advance Auto.
5) Brush down tire with Megs' versa-angle tire brush.
6) Hose off well and tire.
7) Apply car shampoo onto rim with boars hair brush. Despite the brake dust, I find that my car shampoo, agitated with my Swissvax brush and perhaps microfiber towel, is usually sufficient to remove the grime and dirt from the wheel. I rarely use a wheel cleaner. When I do, I use Megs' Gold Class All Wheel Cleaner.
8) Brush down rim barrel with Megs' spoke brush.
9) Hose down wheel.
10) At conclusion of detail, apply tire dressing of choice. I have been using Mother's Reflections Tire Care, which I like very much and recommend if one likes a low gloss look.

Next tire detail, I will be trying out the Tropi-Care White Pearl tire dressing, about which I have read very positive reports.
