here is a rare Zaino curing solution ?

I've just had a suggestion from a guy.

He applies his z5, then z6, then z2, then some more z6, then for his final coat he uses z2 but lets his z2 layer sit overnight "curing" and then next morning he removes it with PC then re-applies z6 and then buffs with MF towel pad and he claims this is the "wettest" his car has ever looked.

I've never heard of an existing zaino'd car leaving z2 for overnight improving things ?

Is this simply a better way ?

thanks

I have left Z2 on the car overnight a couple of times (infact I usually leave the last coat on over night). I found it extremely easy to take off the next day. I have had great results with this technique, especially under cooler or high humidity conditions.

I ALWAYS let it cure overnight. It seems to be easier to remove expecially in humid or cold conditions. I think it's shinier too but that could be my imagination. My car sure does look wet though!

Yep I do the same thing ... pretty often. In fact, it's suggested on the Zaino site (or was, the last time I looked at their tips & tricks). Removal is easier that way.

What about the dust that settles onton this hazed up Z?

Are you not afraid of it being abrasive when you remove the Z?

Just a thought

I am a Zaino-holic. I usually use ZFX (since St. Sal highly recommends it) but the last layer I usually put on at night and take off the next morning. It seems to give a wetter look and it does seem easier to remove.

BTW, I am new here. I noticed that not many posters have pictures of their cars in their posts/sig. lines. Is this something that is frowned upon or have I just not got to the picture sections yet?

Thanks!

Dr Bonz, Yes, I would refrain from posting actual pictures in your signature line....feel free to stick a link in your signature, but the gallery is the place to upload photos to.

I have used this technique ( over night drying in my clean detailing garage) prior to the introduction of ZFX. Yes, the finish does appear shinier and wetter. This is a true appearance change that also occurs naturally even if buffed shortly after drying. This is because, even with ZFX, final curing has taken place. Haven't you notice that the Zaino appearance actually gets better after several days? Same reason.

One thing I do not do is Z6 after the final coat is buffed. I wait 24 hrs even if the last coat was buffed off many hours later ( overnight). :wavey

Hey Dr Bonz.. welcome :wavey

I have read a lot of your work on 350Z... you will love Autopia and all the knowlege poured out here....

You might even decide to switch from Zanio to Klasse..:shocked

I too notice that zaino was marginally easier to remove the following morning, but my suspicion is that it is because my arms have had an overnight rest.

I can't tell the difference, so I remove the Z once it has dried. Scratching the paint with dust is more noticeable than a "shinier and wetter" look. Could be pyschological...

I agree. If you detail outdoors remove as soon as it dries. The enhancement will still come after complete curing.

I have been leaving Z5 on over night and the result (I think) is a much better shine. I have been doing the overnight thing w Z2 for years.

BTW: This "may" be my first post, but I have been lurking and learning (Thank you all) for about a year. I am obsessed w/ a clean sctratch free car.
