After I use a paint cleaner do I need to use a polish or can I go straight to wax. Here are my steps: clay, cleaner, wax. Sound good?:nixweiss

That will work just fine. All you need a polish for is if you want to remove swirls or scratches. The cleaner will help bring some lustre into the paint.

You may proceede :p

Wait.... what products are you exactly using here? It almost sounds like Megs' 3 step?

This all depends on what you mean by "polish".

I usually categorize products into three individual groups. They are; 1- cleaners, 2- polishes, 3- waxes. Depending on the paint cleaner and the condition of the vehicle you may sometimes need to use a polish as an in-between step.

Well my car is pretty new (900 miles) so do I really need to use a cleaner, I just thought it would help remove the old layer of wax I put on it when I first got it, maybe just a polish.

I have DC paint cleaner #7 show car glaze and some nxt and also clay I dont have many swirls so should I just use these?

What color is the car? You'll be very happy with clay-->DC-->NXT. If you have a darker paint, then look into picking up some S100, #16 (my preferred), or #26. After picking up the LSP of your choice, I would go with clay-->#7-->carnauba.
